Sorta confused here. So we have to do a complete install in order to get version 2.0.4? Isn't there a simple upgrade method that we existnig GTN owners can perform instead? I do not need a full or complete install, just an upgrade.

The simple method is to do the reinstall. Takes 5 minutes - just don't download and reinstall the trainer.

Not even 5 minutes. The update tool is only for sim revision updates for number changes. This needed an actual update due to autopilot changes
