P3dv4 and ambient weather error. Please help.

Featured Replies

In the last week, my flights in P3dv4.1 have been interrupted after a short time with this message:

"AS_P3Dv4 cannot control ambient weather parameters correctly, thus is cannot function properly at this point and will shut down.  Please make sure you have proper rights/ownership of the program files (x86) folder and have trusted/excluded AS_P3dv4 from your security software, as well as the simulator's as_srv folder and included .dll modules."

I usually start Active Sky (the upgraded version for 4.1), and then start Prepar3dv.1.  I start each by clicking on Run as Administrator.  I have uninstalled and re-installed Active Sky for P3dv4.  It actually started just after the last update to this weather program.

Have any of you ever gotten this error?   I would appreciate your input on how to fix this.

Thanks,

Stan

You should get help on this directly from HiFi.  They have very good product support.

I am communicating with them now.   Still not solved.  FSUIP was suspected, then ESET Anti Virus, and even after uninstallation of those programs the error still shows up.  It's either my P3dv4.1 install or Active Sky itself.

Very frustrating.  Usually occurs quickly in very bad weather (stormy or very cloudy).

hey there, @spilok

Did you ever find a solution to this problem?  I just came across your post -- and have been running into this for a couple weeks now.  Anything that you might have to share would be greatly appreciated.

Within last few months more and more anti-virus programs are slipping in code to protect documents against ransom-ware. Mine, Avast, was throwing errors (without identifying itself) about envtex trying to change files and a few other incidents. It took me a while to figure out what was going on. Turns out Avast had "protected" almost all folders that had documents in them.

Your best bet is to contact HiFi support - also be sure you are using the latest version. There are several long threads on HiFi Forum which discuss this and may have your solution.
