I have a beef.

Unfortunately this is something that comes up in the forums far too often, and it is getting tedious. Speaking for myself I am getting tired of it. That is, before seeking a remedy and talking in a friendly way to the developer or other party, the first impulse is to run off to the forums and hurl anonymous rocks.Sorry, but I don't think that is a very mature or responsible way to resolve issues. I have never had a problem reinstalling software from PMDG, or with the other developers who commonly get flamed here in the forums. They respond favorably to reasonable demands. I often suspect that the problems in these flamre threads is with the complainer, not the developer. A kind word and a reasonable polite request will almost always get the result you want.My opinion.

Hi,After reading this thread since yesterday, and reading how many strong (passionate?) expressions of "PMDG is right to charge for it" in this thread (much more than "it is a bad business practice" opinions), you in fact just started something interesting! With these many positive expressions of "I have no issue with the policy of paying for downloading services" (which by the way cost VERY little in terms of bandwidth nowadays and could be HIGHLY automated with the Flight1 eCommerce system a lot of OTHER VENDORS use), a lot of vendors will now be faced with something interesting to evaluate: either they follow this model and also earn a couple more bucks per customers in offering what the vast majority of customers in this thread expresses as being willing to pay.... or, some of the vendors will assume the market is clever enough and will understand there is added value from their product in comparison to other vendor's products, when they are not charging for downloads. The truth of the matter is that each vendor has a pretty unique offering in this market, and if you don't like one's business practices, you merely have an alternate choice of equivalent functionality from another vendor... food for thought!

Graham, Perhaps you should re read before jumping in with such an ad hominin. There is no charge for ACTIVATIONS, what he is complaining about is the RE DOWNLOAD policy. Read his posts once again which by the way is based upon his misunderstanding................Randy J.
