Why on gods earth, do I have to essential repay a company for a download link that I have already given them money for a product they offer? I don't want to here the crap about bandwidth and security and time taken to reconstitute downloads and installations. This is the line for me. I have already given this company over 100 bucks and yaaa for good products, but they are the ones that offered downloadable programs as well as CDs and the only and I mean the only reason why they are implementing this re verification crap and download links that we have to email their support then wait for them is because they want to make sure there product doesn't end up on emule or as a torrent , which it already has so why bother. It is a huge inconvinience for all of us who purchase products from them and ontop of that I can't even be grandfathered into there stupid policy since I purchased way before their extended download period. This is another plot to get money and it is a crock of you know what. There is absolutely no other explanation other then it is a way to compensate themselves for poor planning and judgement regarding their time being spent answering the requests of valid purchasers to resend us download links.

Is the product still operational (as you bought it) without this 're-verification' issue?

Jim, that's fantastic and I for one thank you for that service. I totally agree with the original poster that charging you to redownload a product is another way to squeeze money out of us, it's just sleezy!.

I'm refering to a company that makes a very nice 747. I bought alot of their products and now they want to charge me after the original purchase date to re-download my product that I paid for. The problem is, is with this company you can keep the downloads all day long. But after so many installations the installer becomes useless and you have to send them an email then wait for a response, which I have waited up to a week for, then you have to redownload it and reinstall it. They are charging 3.95 US for the "extended download period" which is 1 year then after that you have to buy more. Rubbish if you ask me absolute rubish

put it this way, you purchase a video game at a store, misplace the CD, and go back to the store asking for a new copy. I wonder what response you will get?

I would have agreed Edam other then the fact that I did not include the company , so in defense of his company if his was indeed the problem I can let him go for that. But these add on companies need to realize something. I didn't spend 60 bucks on a sim so I could go spend 1000 making it what I want. They have forgotten that the majority of us this is a hobby and I understand you make a good product then charge a lil for it but come on. Its like FSUIPC, Peter Dawson a great guy yes, Peter Dawson and excellent programmer yes, FSUIPC is like 266K , alot of time probably spent making that but 30 bucks + for it?????? And the list goes on and on , its like I go to simmarket and half the stuff they sell is junk and its all like 30 Dollars plus? Has this become the main figure for any add on? Intodays world they are gonna learn soon that people are going broke. People are losing thier jobs and their homes and this once plentiful hobby of theirs they turned into a small and very profitable business is gonna go bye bye. So don't quit your day jobs!

FSUIPC takes hours hours and hours of programming. what hes done to break the flight sim code, and rewrite and add to allow other developers to do some of the things they do... 30 dollars is well worth it, even for a "thank you"Personally I enjoy buying payware from people I respect because I want to help them out with all the hard work they do.

"Well, it's because we don't get a physical CD."I could understand this years ago with computers not having burners. But today with burners standard equipment why cannot every installation file be burned on a CD after a download?Yes, burns go bad and media goes bad and I can understand this.How do the music sites deal with this? Glad you have tons of money to blow congrats! What I am saying is if I knew this was coming I would have bought a #### CD. This is crap at the least they should is all orders purchased from this date out , should be charged the extended download not when I've already owned the product for 6 months. And on top of that crap , they make you buy an extended download for each product you purchase so now for me there goes another 10 bucks just to use the 100 dollars worth of stuff I bought. This is GARBAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have no problem buying and paying for things that are worth it. Then this would have been stated at the time of purchase not something that they either A. Said "Hey lets make some money off of this" B. Look guys we didn't plan for bandwidth and we have to compensate for this. Thats my point out of the blue you just realize you either A need to charge or B We can make money off of this. And either way you look at it this all falls on them makins some sort of mistake theirfore the people who purchased this product before the date that this is in effect hsould be grandfathered and all sales from here on out should pay the fee.

woa, calm down there, buddy. buy yourself a dvd burner and put all your downloaded files on dvd. its not the companies job to keep their products on the server waiting for people to ask to download them again. nor for them to keep track of who ordered what.you purchased a product, you got the download, end of transaction. in no way is it reqired for them to allow you to download it again. some people do, some people dont. you should always back up your data to begin with.there are more important things in life to get upset about. this id definately not one of them
