But it is good customer service to easily allow future downloads such as the Flight1 wrapper or our policy.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter

Big AL You need to read your forums a lil better before telling me to calm down there bud. As a stated in a previous post we wouldn't have a problem except for one of their products installer only lets you use the installer 3 times before you need another download link to "Revalidate" your installer. It is their pathetic way of security. I wouldn't need another download if it wasn't for this issue. And I do keep backups of my products but Flight1 has the right idea on how online business should transact , not let me pay you to redownload my product. Its the same crap as I buy a computer from a store, and everytime I want to use my computer and turn it back on I have to pay that store a fee for selling it to me. Garbage Garbage

"But these add on companies need to realize something. I didn't spend 60 bucks on a sim so I could go spend 1000 making it what I want." Then don't buy any addons, it's your choice. The sim is perfectly flyable without any payware addons, so it's not a nessecity"They have forgotten that the majority of us this is a hobby and I understand you make a good product then charge a lil for it but come on." Then you give designing a shot and get back to us after you produce a product as sophisticated as many of the payware addons."Its like FSUIPC, Peter Dawson a great guy yes, Peter Dawson and excellent programmer yes, FSUIPC is like 266K , alot of time probably spent making that but 30 bucks + for it??????" See the response above this one....and the one before it."Intodays world they are gonna learn soon that people are going broke. People are losing thier jobs and their homes and this once plentiful hobby of theirs they turned into a small and very profitable business is gonna go bye bye."Actually here in the US the figure for middle income is rising everyday, while many may be going broke, many more are becoming successful. Read what you wrote, you ever stopped and thought that maybe some of these developers are the ones losing their homes and jobs and this is their way to make ends meet?, lighten up.While I agree with the paying for an extended d/l being total BS (one of the things I hate about Simmarket)it's all about capitalism and you have the choice to but or not, same as they have the right to charge what they want for a product.Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/mcdcvabanner.jpgCalVirAir International

>And I do keep backups of my productsIf you keep backups of your product, then you wouldn't have to pay the company for a new download link. So where's the problem?>Its the same crap as I buy a computer from a store, and everytime I >want to use my computer and turn it back on I have to pay that store a >fee for selling it to me.Last I checked you don't have to pay them everytime you use the product. I've loaded up the 747, oh about twice a day for the past 3 months or so and have only payed for it once.

Ok I'm done, My Point is and has been, it wasn't this way nor was there anywhere in wrighting that I would have to pay for more downloads. And if you had any idea of how the system works you would know just what the HECK I am talking about. I am done with this post because once again it has been proven that their are more stupid people in this wolrd then smart and alot of them happen to be hangin around these boards. FOr those of you that did understand me I am not talking to you

I think he exceeded the allowable number of re-installs. I don't know what is allowable since I have only re-installed the B744 once (other than the latest patched download), so have never exceeded the allowed number of times.ASAIK, it wouldn't matter if he had archived the file or not, the re-install procedure still has to check in with the server.Bruce.

>ASAIK, it wouldn't matter if he had archived the file or not,>the re-install procedure still has to check in with the>server.I realize that, but he was complaining about having to pay for a new download. Which, if he had made a backup of it, like he said he does, he wouldn't have to pay for it.So what if you have to email for an activation. Count how many times you install, after you are done with the last one, email them. Then when you go to install again, your activations will be there. Might take all of 30 seconds out of your life.Last I checked fligh1 also requires you to do that.

Dear Jason, (last name withheld)I think we all understand your plight, and some of the responders even agree with you, however, what it is, IS what it is. That is now the company's policy, and, should they wish to stick to their 'guns', then you are stuck with that decision. My mother always told me: "you catch more flies with honey than you do with soap . . ." it is the same in the business world. A wee little bit of 'nice' goes a very long way. Granted, there are some companies which 'nice' doesn't work . . . and because of that it is YOUR responsibility to know from whom you are buying, what you are buying and what the terms are. If, as you say, they changed the rules after the initial sale, then I suggest you contact them, and if that doesn't work, contact a lawyer. Saying that, and knowing what lawyers cost these days, it seems to me that if you really wish to have this product, then you only have two choices. Redownload the product and pay or do without it.No, it isn't quite fair, I'll agree with that, however not much in this world these days IS fair . . . that's just the world we live in.In any event, I wish you the best in you travels down this most bumpy road.Clayhttp://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...ers/Dopke01.jpgClayton T. >If, as you say, they changed the rules after the initial>sale, then I suggest you contact them, and if that doesn't>work, contact a lawyer. And sue the company for what?

>Big AL>> You need to read your forums a lil better before telling me>to calm down there bud.>HAHAHAHAIve read every one of your posts on this topic. my comment still stands. you claim you make backups but are still complaining anyway? As I said before, there are more important things. Not everyone has the resources like Flight1 to develop those type of installers. be thankful, not insulting. if a company chooses to do something a certain way, don't complain, just dont purchase it! End of story

B52Drv that is about the best reply I ahve read on any forum in awhile. As nice does go farther unfortunetly we are working on the internet here and because we are not face to face , people think that they can walk all over or talk however they feel. I am surprised and disappointed to see this type of action from this company. And to the next B52 said at last cause contact a lawyer, he didn't say sue but if you must know I assume it would be along the lines of misrepresentation or false advertising. Although payware comes with bugs and we all accept them to some degree, this is not a bug nor was it in there original policy , nor before my date of purchase was there or is documentation stating that 1. I may at some point be asked to pay for additional downloads of my already purchased product. OR 2 That I must also purchase an extended period download package.

What product? what company?IF they only give limited no of installs and disable the original download file and then they charge you for further download and they did not disclose this "wonderful" process upfront, then they are frauds. Plain and simple. (Thats how I understod from reading this thread.)Its not that vendors don't have a right to do what they need to do to protect their invesments. They do and they deserve to protect themselves to stay in business in this day and age But A full disclosure about the limited number of installs if any and/or reactivation process and redownload process is required. And product evaluaters need to look into this process when they evaluate the products as well. Then we can make an informed decision. Most vendors are reasonable. Some vendors go out of their way to minimize irritants...and some simply do not lock it hoping that we are not weazles.Manny.

I had a pretty good idea of what you would sue for, that was more of a rhetorical question.> And to the next B52 said at last cause contact a lawyer, he>didn't say sue but if you must know I assume it would be along>the lines of misrepresentation or false advertising.Where does it say you will get free unlimited downloads?

>IF they only give limited no of installs and disable the>original download file and then they charge you for further>download and they did not disclose this "wonderful" process>upfront, then they are frauds. How are they, "frauds"? They didn't tell you that you would get free downloads of your product. Not their fault that you assume something.>But A full disclosure about the limited number of installs if any >and/or reactivation process and redownload process is required.Show me one company that does that.

Not their fault that you assume something.I expect the file that I downloaded to work into perpetuity (in the same condition of OS and system that I bought it for) unless told otherwise. Experience also says however...that we may need to revalidate with a password via the internet. Most reasonable people would expect the same IMO.Thats why we back it up on CD. If its perishable, we may not want to waste a CD.Reasonable folks expect s/w to be a non perishable item.
