November 21, 20178 yr I tried to fly from Manila (RPLL) to Iloilo (RPVI). All instrumentation seemed correct but as I tried to go visual on final approach no airport was seen. I found an airport visually about 5 mile south west of where it should be. I am using Orbx Global, no other scenery addons. Is this fault likely to be FSX or Orbx or what? TIA Len Carne Len Carne

When I got close to the airport I wasn’t able to see anything. Turned out the airport wasn’t even in FSX but was in my PMDG navdata and also in PFPX. To make sure RVPI is actually in FSX, start a new flight and in the airport menu check to see if it comes up under the ICAO code of RVPI. If it’s a newer airport from when FSX was built it might not be there or if it moved in real life that could explain it. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
November 22, 20178 yr Author Good point. I will check the FSX map when I get home n let you know Len Carne
November 24, 20178 yr FSX's airport database is 10+ years old. RPVI has moved from it's original location near the coast to inland in order to expand the city's metropolitan district (and for noise reasons I'm sure, too). Intel I7 6700k @ 4ghz, nVidia 3070ti 8gb, 16 gb ddr4 @ 1066mhz, 500 ssd, 2tb hdd, 2tb ssd, ASUS z170-E mb, Samsung 24" @ 1920x1080, P3D 5.4, MSFS
November 29, 20178 yr Author Same is true for Cagayan de Oro. The Phils really needs a scenery designer to sort it out. Thats twice now i've used navigraph to fly to none existent airports. Len Carne
