Black Friday GTN650/750 [SOLVED]

The logs are different this time. Can you please describe 'failure'?

"Failure" means this:

Bezel (with GARMIN and HOME in the right top) and black screen inside pop up, when a GTN 750 1 and/or 2 are activated. Even when power is set to always on, nothing happens.

The knobs bottom right and top left do nothing, HOME-button inactive and probably a DIRECTTO-button in the right middle are also inactive.

Everything with power sources set to always on (also, the other two power options checked without success).

My two 530s in the background are up and running and obviously feeling fine. (... some conflict?)

Have you tried rotating your mouse wheel over the screen to see if it lights up?

Mouse wheel rotations over a GTN-window/-screen have no effect, everywhere else they zoom the 3D-cockpit (as expected).

Hi, what aircraft are you trying this into? Can you try the GTN 750 in the default Baron 58?

I had an aircraft where the screen was dark and doing this made it light up.

Recently, all notes targeted the default C172, also, the default Baron suffers from black behaviour.

Nope. (Tried several ideas retrieved from that link's discussion.)

But I do have another question: at the time of purchase Ver.9 was active (there is still an RXP-GTN750-X9.lic sitting in c.\RealityXP). Then you suggested the use of Ver.10 and Ver.10RC2 (the latter being my last installation) ... Could this constitute a problem?

Edited by Babbo
Edit: But 9 could be a reference to DirectX-version too ...

Haha ... just out of curiosity I ran the Trainer and - it produces an DirectX Error, which demands a video card that "meets the minimum system requirements and fully supports DirectX 9.0 (Updating video drivers may help)".

I don't own a killer card, say Nvidia1080, but an Asus Strix R390 (capable of running DirectX 12.0) with an 8GB memory should be fine to run the trainer ...

Aaaah: a dxdiag-check actually reports a DirectX 12 and no problems.

Is this the point to quit?

Video drivers are permanently updated and so far have never been cause for any problem.

Hi, the license file ending with X9.lic is just the SKU for the product, not its version number.

As for the video card, well, your drivers support DX12, but do they support DX9?

Can you please open the RealityXP.GTN.ini file in your aircraft folder, locate the [GTN_750_1] section (or any section which name is the same as the device you are using in the panel) then add right below the following line:

[GTN_750_1]
DebugValue = 1

Once done, load the aircraft, and report the rxpGtnSim.dll.log file content.

You give me hope, thank you:

17/11/30 20:10:24.513 14268 INFO ]

May I suggest you use the officially released v2.4.10? Looking at your log file, it may be it is not properly writing into the file, and the official release includes a change for this compared to the RC2.

PS: for anyone wondering, the only difference between RC2 and official release is the small change for the log files.

Guess I'll skip that one then.

Reinstall done. And it was carefully done ... here's the result: scaring blackness again! The RXP-output is exactly the same, nice moveable bezel (with dead screen), dead knobs and buttons, the GARMIN-logo and a HOME top right. XP itself looks good, not a single error-message, just the black screen.

My profound résumé: it must be something different.
