Back in the USSR

Featured Replies

Back when the USSR actually was the USSR, the VC10 was a contemporary airliner, which is one of the nice things about flight simulators of course, in that we can fly old stuff which no longer takes to the skies for real. So, joining my Air Hauler fleet and awaiting a repaint in my VA livery is this good old Vickers-Armstrong VC10, currently wearing one of several variations of the transitional BOAC-to-British Airways livery which BA's fleet briefly wore.

This is a good aeroplane to have in Air Hauler, despite it being expensive to buy in the sim at 60 Million Dollars, because it has a massive range, massive cargo capacity, is very fast indeed and can get in and out of hot and high places easily. The VC10 was of course the fastest subsonic airliner there was, still holding many records for speed, since it cruised at near supersonic. These shots show it making its first revenue flight for my VA, from EGGP Liverpool to ULAA Talagi, where it parked up next to one of my other AH fleet aircraft, a Citation CJ4, which was boarding passengers for a flight to Paris under the control of two of my trusty AI pilots:

Nice shots of the VC10, one of the few airliners I never flew on.

Chock, I’m trying to be responsible by getting all life’s chores done before I get back on my flight sim computer. You are not making that any easier by showing these great shots of the plane I am most anxious to purchase and install.

With the Concorde, Spitfire, and VC-10 the Brits get the award for the most beautiful plane designs.

These were the times... I could have been happened that you met an Il-62 there...

Great plane, great destination!
