Graeme, if you've nothing to say one way or the other, why bother?Seriously? Why?

Dougal,I unfortunately have to inform you that you are now an official member of the "I Got Hammered By FSD" Club.

Hi Phil,Pretty sure that if you e-mail Chris and explain your situation to him, he will take care of you. Sometimes it's not what you know, but who you know!Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter

Hi JimAs my post says.... I did email them... several times, explaining in detail why. As for emailing "Chris"... i assume he is part of FSD? The only means i have of emailing them, is via their online emailing system. I have an email address for FSD, but they do not acknowledge reciept.I've just recalled another time this happend... t'was with PMDG and my 744PAX. I even offered to pay them again if it helped, but they said this would not be neccassary, and simply reset their server for me. I've since reistalled all my PMDG software countless times. Were it not for that fact i'd no doubt get banned from here, i'd probably say some very insulting things about FSD. After all... i have absolutely nothing to loose.

I am sorry for what you are going through in your personal life, I do wish you well and hang in there. On the FS side of things, sorry for what you are going through, I had similar expereinces with PMDG and Flight 1 Software, they are very good with customer services. Unfortunately, I have not purchased anything from FSD. Its nothing to do with them, just I don't normally fly the type of planes they make. Again, nothing to do with FSD whatsoever.I am sorry that FSD has taken this type of stand with you. I hope that things will work out. I would not say any that will get you banned, especially from here, as its a great community of people to be with, I found no other like it. Hang in there, I do wish you the best.Charles

Thanks Charles... appreciated. It is indeed a great shame, as the addon in question is simply stunning. Not only is the original/real aircraft a very unusual & interesting design, but the FSD flight model is apparently extremely realistic. They're not my words, but those of a R/W Pilatus pilot i met in Italy. He was then working for a skydiving company.I've never had any issue with the quality of their work, just how they trest the paying customer.

Sorry to hear about this Dougal. I know you from the other forum and know about your health problems and what not. For those who don't, he's even had brain surgery! I hope it works out.

I hate to tell you this, but from what you describe, the way you have been reinstalling the software, and on multiple systems or rebuilt systems, I am honestly not surprised you were declined for still more installations. Its just not possible to do that with software like it used to be. And I dont think its paranoia either. Software sellers are getting stolen blind, to the point where you just about cant find any software these days that does not require product activation. I know this for a fact because I had a situation with Symantec where I was not able to install it again on a new PC. Also had a similar instance with PMDG. They tell you you need to remove it from one PC before installing it on another, like a laptop. You are free to rebuild your computer equipment as much as you want, but I think you are going to find it harder and harder to get your software installed. I know Windows wont let you do that, unless you just reinstall it and let the 30 day activation period expire, then reinstall it again. You cant expect software makers to go along with that. Word is Windows Vista is not even going to allow you to install a new motherboard without purchasing another license.Sorry, but thats just the way it is these days. If you are going to point the finger at someone blame the software pirates that caused this whole problem in the first place. My opinion.

no offense but you are wasting your time reinstalling windows that often

Hi there, This doesn't make too much sense for me, I reinstalled also several times, never any problems, not with PMDG, Flight ONE, or even FS Live traffic, All of them were very helpfull, considering you bought a piece of software, there is no way to implement restrictions in the number of reinstalls. It is not a problem of the honest customer, there are people out there stealing software, this is a problem, the vendor or software producer has to deal with, he can't just say, sorry too much bad boys and you have to pay for it, other companies including flight1 have found more then sufficent ways to deal with it, without bothering a paying customer. By the way, the customer service of Symantec is anyway near zero, these guys are really not an example to follow...Just my two centsKurtKPSPPalm Springs, California

I can't beleieve you buy into that. Not only are you giving the school bully your lunchmoney, you actualy tell him that if he wants its you can give him more. When I buy software. I buy the the right to use that product for my personal use for life. I'm not aware of any FS add-on that sells yearly licenses so thats it 1 product for me to use on my own PC as I like it. (no sharing no other persons using it just me)The piracy paranoia makes it ever harder for me the legal customer to fully use my product. (if I want to reinstall windows every week than thats my full right and it has nothing to do with any fs add-on)Lets be staight about this. Every add-on on the market is probably pirated within 2 weeks. The pirated versions don't have paranoia inc. protection so the pirate gets a beter product then I the legal customer.Piracy protection has an adverse effect.

Hi AlexI think perhaps you misunderstand.... i don't reinstall Windows etc because i feel i need or have to. I do it because i WANT to. I gain as much pleasure from installing, tweaking yet more reinstalling, than anything else i do with the PC.Besides, me thinks it's my time to "waste"..... :-)
