Aerosoft Hamburg-Finkenwerder Released!

Recommended Posts

A very glossed over scenery but Aerosoft just released their rendition of Hamburg-Finkenwerder, EDHI. Quite interesting as it is a factory airport for Airbus and is where the deliveries of A320 and A380 aircraft take place. The cost is €11.90 with 100% of the net profit being donated to help children in hospice care. Looks pretty good as well! Now all we need is Toulouse in v4 and we’re set!

£10 and all goes to a children's hospice....am in.

It even looks like an interesting airport to fly into and out of, bonus. Am sure my FSL will like it. Will have to fly in the pilots first in my GLJ 25.

That’s the biggest part that sold me, as well as us finally having a good Airbus factory airport!

I have just bought the scenery to support the children's hospital "Hospiz Balthasar" in Olpe, Germany, and to support the developer Dieter Kreiskott. Christian Bahr and Manfred Siedler also helped to create the scenery. From the screenshots, the "airport" looks great.

Have a nice Christmas!

This is really a very generous gesture from the developer and just a great thing. I hope a lot of people will buy the airport! If you want, then you can even donate a little more during the check–out process by selecting „Balthasar donation“.

I have tested it: It looks beautiful and it is a solid made scenery. Well worth to spend the money, especially because it is careware.

Installation however is not entirely straight forward. Aerosoft designed an installer, which installs the scenery but you have to copy files afterwards if you don't use Orbx GEN. Also, if you want SODE wind socks (instead of BGL), you have to copy files manually to the respective SODE folders. This is not done by the installer (at least not when I installed it). Anyway, I cannot recognize a loss of fps by this scenery:around 60 fps on outside view (4790K, 1080TI), which is fine because Hamburg is a heavy area with lots of autogen and EDDH nearby. It comes with a configuration tool in case you would like to switch off features.

EDHI also fits nicely with VFR Germany North and comes with different seasons. No need to switch seasons, it is done automatically depending on the period set in the sim. You will also see the big and fat Beluga transporter just docked to a installation hall...

Cheers,

Chris

Are they providing a public location to track the funds raised for this charity?
