The Short Solent MK III has been updated by Michael Wilson. She now uses PBR textures and looks fantastic. Now she only works with XP 11.

Yes, it's Mike Wilsons Solent, available at the .org store.

HI, I worked with Micheal to produce the PBR version of the Solent.

I'm sitting on a whole heap of major new additional improvements to the Solent, but Mike Wilson seems to have vanished !!

Real External Cockpit Glass effect
Rivets and Flap ridges to textures and NMLs
CowlFlaps and enabled the panel cowl flap manipulator
Added Engine Detail
Reversed direction of the props (they were spinning the wrong way based on the prop pitch)
Dropped engine minimum RPM to allow very slow water taxi simulation.
Tweaked starter torque for more realistic starts.
Repositioned landing lights and enhanced the glass.
Applied Beaching Gear PBR NML
Internal Cockpit Glass reflection effects (can disable at night by swapping certain files using a .bat file included)
Enabled cockpit shadows by using internal glass object
Added Wheel and Stick animation
Created Instrument Glass and 3Drings
Overlaid the 2D clickable controls onto the 3D panels (Can manipulate all controls and switches from the 3D panel)
Animated clickable mixture levers
Backlit instruments
Applied Night cockpit lighting with controls for PanelFlood, Dome and Instrument brightness
Enhanced instrument textures for better night lighting effects
Pilots removed from internal view (for wheel animation to look right)
Applied particle effects for water, outer floats, engine smoke and startup smoke effects for xplane 11.30
Classified as "Seaplane" so it appears in the Seaplane section of the Flight Configurator.

Now, if I could only get in touch with Mike Wilson.  He's been missing for 6 months now

The Solent features prominently in the demo video of the free FlyWithLUA  "Wingman View" script I released for  X-Camera and Xplane11

Specs: Win10, 4790K, nVidia 1080ti, Saitek Yoke+Quadrant+Radio/Switch and AP panels, VRInsight 737 overhead, Virtual Avionics 737 MCP. 3 x 1440*900 main display + 1024*600 VDU display. NLR V3 Motion seat. Oculus DK2 CV1 HTC Vive VR headsets.

wow, awesome work! 😍

I hope Michael is okay! I love his planes (DC-8, Tristar and Short Solent). I guess i will buy the 707 package to support him.

I like Mike.  His 707 was the first payware I bought back in 2009.  We emailed each other a few times when he asked about some texturing tips a few years ago.  I emailed him the other day, and he usually replies within a day, so yes, the fact he hasn't replied is a little concerning.  Keep us informed @smoothchat if you hear from him.
