XP11 good freeware sceneries

Featured Replies

So i took a break from P3D and im doing some VFR in Xplane 11 in it's native VR which i found very good even in beta with some bugs.

XP11 + Ortho4xp + HD mesh v4 is in my opinion the best combination that we can have nowadays to fly in VR, simply amazing!

So im looking for some freeware sceneries, specially small airports or other kinds of sceneries to add even more value to this combination.

Please be kind to share what do you like most.

Thank you

Marques

Combined with ONLY the sky colors from Soft Cloud Art https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/40952-soft-cloud-art/

Finnally, in case you aren't aware of it already, Forkboy2 has edited and compiled orthos for huge portions of the US. They're much better looking than what you can generate on your own because he uses a non-public source that has far fewer visual errors than you'd normally get yourself by just using the ortho4xp program. https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/36327-us-orthophotos/

Anyway, there are quite a few more awesome sceneries, but this is just the smaller airports and other enhancements I could think of off the top of my head. I encourage you to go over to the org and just scroll through the 'most downloaded' and 'highest rated' sections and you're bound to find something you like.

No problem!

Oops, I almost forgot KIMT by Slayer. I have been to this airport numerous times in real life and he absolutely nailed it. Also, I have to give him a shoutout because he's letting me use one of his sceneries as the basis for my own project ;)  https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/39081-kimt-iron-mountain-ford/

Nice :) i was checking the links now, very nice sceneries here. Very curious about Catalina that i already flew in P3D and is a really nice place to fly.

Just a quick question, are they all XP11 compatible? some just say XP10!

Thanks again

Yes, the will all work in XP11. 99% of sceneries made for V9 and V10 (and even V8, I think) will work in V11, provided you have the proper libraries and have installed them correctly. While they may not utilize new XP11 technologies like PBR textures and built-in ground traffic, they will still load up just fine.

I would suggest just searching the download section for airports ICAO's you are interested in. Most of the freeware are good if not better than anything you'd get for P3D/FSX. Also, check the Gateway for airports that are or may be included within XP11 anyway..
