January 22, 20188 yr Hi Bryan When FO asks for APU start during pre-start flow, the APU start switch remains in START position instead of flicking back to ON. I can simply override it by clicking on the APU switch again, but would be nice if this could be fixed with the next release. This happened with the release version already, so doesnt seem to be a 'new' bug coming with SP1. Thanks Lars

January 23, 20188 yr Not seeing this issue here. I see the Start switch in the Start position for ~12 seconds before it returns to the On position during APU start up. Same results with SO1 and SO2... -Scott Scott Brown
January 23, 20188 yr Author Ok let me try again, this time i'll wait more than 12 seconds before i judge, guess i'm an impatient Captain ;) So in RW, do they actually hold the APU switch in START position for several seconds? I thought its just a quick flip?
January 23, 20188 yr Commercial Member One of my 747 manuals says you should position the APU Start Switch manually to the off position. Don't let it flick. Are you using custom panel state files. Sometimes, if they have a corruption, they can introduce odd behavior into the sim. I always use unaltered PMDG panel state files for this reason. B. January 23, 20188 yr Author Its not about APU shutoff, its the starting procedure. I noticed that the switch remains in the START position when the FO starts the APU, even though the START position is only flip action. I'll test if it remains permanently in this position or if it flicks back to ON after 12 seconds as stated by Scott. Well i use a custom panel state as thats currently the only way to prevent a permanent FMC warning, a bug which was introduced with one of the recent PMDG747 updates. PMDG suggests to use a custom state as a workaround. But the custom state is based on the ones delivered by PMDG.
January 23, 20188 yr Commercial Member Pardon, I meant to the on position. Just for for try it with with a non-custom panel state file. B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
January 24, 20188 yr The proper procedure is to hold the switch in the start position and then release. Kevin M. Manley
February 2, 20188 yr Well in the T7 the FO is like: click clack and that's it but the 747 requires a longer hold on start but 12 seconds is too long. Never experienced that tho. Cheers Henrik K.
