I was wondering if you can install the GTN750 (or 650 for that matter) unit from flight1 into aircrafts other than the ones that have compatability provided from the airplane developer? ie. I can put the 650 unit into pmdg dc6 and in C172 from A2A, but what about the dc3 from Manfred Jahn?

I tried installing it into the dc3, but got only a 2d popup working. Is it possible to install it into the virtual cockpit itself?

You can install the GTN 750/650 in some VC panels and not in others. If the gauges are hard coded into the model, the best that can be accomplished is shoe horning them into an other gps gauge frame. See this thread; it has a lot of examples and shared panel cfg.

Or how about installing it into the Carenado A36 Bonanza that is a default aircraft in Prepar3dv.4?

The stock A36 in Prepar3d has two GNS 430's, and while I can get a 650 to fit in the space of one of those units, when I try to open the 650 in a pop-up window, I get the two 430s to pop up instead!

That is fixable, by editing the panel.cfg file with Notepad..

Hi,

FltSim can render any gauge to any virtual cockpit as a flat rectangle (like a popup window 'placarded' to the VC panel). Advanced integration (3D bezel, screen in the middle, 3D buttons and knobs) requires the aircraft to be modelled with the 3D objects first and foremost.
