New Mobo and HD Install

Featured Replies

Howdy Captains,

I'm probably going to be installing a new hard drive and OS tomorrow when I upgrade my cpu/mobo.  Will I have any trouble activating the NGX when I do? I will also be installing the 777 as well, so would the same answer apply to both?

Thanks,

John Lynch

I just replaced my mobo, cpu and memory last night.  I didn't have to authenticate any PMDG product much to my surprise (I have them all), and if you do have a problem a simple support ticket will get it cleared up.

Be sure to read microsoft support article on verification after replacing hardware.  The steps include adding your on line Microsoft account such that the digital license is available when you try o boot from the new mobo.

Yes and no. Depends on if you read the Intro Manual section on when to use the license return function.

(Return the license when: changing computers, changing hardware, or reinstalling Win.)

Kyle,

I had a broken system SSD last friday and had to reinstall win 10 from scratch on a new SSD... Of course I also had to reinstall P3D and every addon as it wasn‘t written into the new registry. Then I had to enter my PMDG serials and all of them were accepted without any return or support request...

Thanks for reminding me of that Kyle,

Yes. I know how our systems work. What you're seeing is normal, and it simply took up one of your activations on top of your previous activation.

They are just a minor bit of a pain, honestly.
