Take off roll issue

Recommended Posts

Quick Update

1. I lined up onto runway 27 at KMIA. Winds calm.

2. FMC programmed.

3. I then did 3 take off rolls

A. Throttled manually, Heading 272, Did not arm LNAV or VNAV, FD on:  Aircraft maintained centerline of runway and drifted to left towards end of roll

B. Throttled manually, Did not arm LNAV/VNAV, FD on, Heading 273. Pressed Heading Select: Aircraft maintained centerline of runway, no drift.

C. Engaged TOGA, Did not arm LNAV/VNAV, FD on, Heading 273. Pressed Heading Select: Aircraft maintained centerline except at last 30 feet, then began drift.

So as not to make this a lengthy post, I will stick with Option B going forward. It seems to be a solution for now. And in the time going forward this glitch will serve to improve my analytical skills. Thanks so much.

Sounds really sketchy to me, honestly.

If it didn't happen in a previous sim version, and then suddenly started happening in a new sim version, I'd say it's a configuration issue. Our 777 code has literally not changed in quite some time, so the change will be found in your variable: your sim version.

Moreover, I'm willing to bet that, if you tried each more than a few times, you'd find that the behavior is present no matter what you do.

Why do you consider this to be a "glitch"?

Kyle, youve never guided me incorrectly, and I agree that it must be some weird configuration matter. My system was set up by Jetline Systems, I am going to discuss with them later today. I definitely do not think it is a 777 issue for the simple reason that in FSX I did not encounter this problem.  Thank you again.

"Glitch" meaning, something wrong with my set up. NOT a 777 glitch.

It is the winds. Try one takeoff with some crosswind, and then the same takeofff again with no winds. You’ll notice that that is the variable.

One other thing to try...turn down the P-factor effects in the realism settings.

Final Update:  Problem SOLVED. By turning down the P-factor to  zero, this issue has gone away. I did 10 flights under varying conditions, and once P Factor turned down, this problem has not returned.  Thank you all for your help.

Strange. P-factor only affects prop-aircraft. I have all realism settings to 100% and I have never had a jet draw to the left.

Nonetheless, another 2 flights last night and this morning, no drift off of runway. I did not change any other setting but P-factor. No explanation other than what has happened to me. Head scratcher for certain
