Something is wrong with my Airbuses

Featured Replies

Hi, I own all of the PSS Airbus packages, and I occasionally use their panel on a POSKY A330/A340 and IFDG A320. The problem I am about to describe persists on all my airbus irregardless of the model. As I near 30000ft my VS drops dramatically, sometimes the plane cannot climb anymore and ends up losing all its airspeed and stalling. Sometimes I get to a good Cruise altitude, but the Mach number is always wrong. Iregardless of which aircraft I chose the indicated mach number at 33000ft at a speed of aroung 320KIAS is .520. In order to do M0.81 I need to speed up to around 450KIAS!!! When I then switch to a pmdg boeing product I no longer have this problem and the Mach numbers seem much more reasonable, only 280KIAS at 33000ft. I really do not know what the problem is but it persists on all my Airbuses. Sheahan

That's what you get using the panels with incorrect models.

I think you are using the correct panel with the correct models :-hahBut are you merging them correctly? ...grab these files. :)http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=...hor=&CatID=roothttp://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=...hor=&CatID=root

This happens on all my airbuses even the PSS ones, which have been installed straight from the PSS oficial installer, and by the way I have reinstalled the A340 panel but the problem has not been solved.

Here are some screen shots, from a PSS A340 Air Canada. As you can see at FL310 my Mach number is way too low and my ground speed seems to be around KIAS which is never the case at this altitude.

if you have Active Sky (ASV6) try disabling wake turbulance. The simulation of this causes airspeed to bleed very rapidly, sometimes to the point of a stall. Not sure if the new update just recently released, addresses this issue, as I haven't got a chance to try it yet.

Thanks

Tom

Do you check your payload/fuel loads b4 your flight? ..do you do step climbs etc?

You have a problem for sure. 340KIAS at FL310 will not be M.591. I suspect you still have a model/airfile conflict lurking still. Might I suggest using the airfile from Bob Scott? A search through the PSS forum should provide a link to a DL. When you re-installed the buses, were you sure to delete any remnants of the previous install first?Jay EklundCAT VI Senior Captain KDENhttp://online.vatsimindicators.net/812321/764.png

I'm fairly sure that what's happening is FS2004 has somehow been set to display TAS instead of IAS. Check in the Aircraft -> Realism Settings drop down menu and I'll bet you have "Display True Airspeed" selected instead of "Display Indicated Airspeed."CheersBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Santiago de Chile

Bob, you've got it, I have been flying with the Realism setting set to show true aurspoeed. For some reason this does not affect the PMDG Boeing aircraft, and I have been flying them for quite a while hence i thought everything was ok, they were showing IAS. I also wrote about how my airbuses were stalling frequently, quite simple explination, my True Airspeed was 300 knots and hence I was at Mach 0.50, when I switched to indicated Airspeed I found that the plane was near 200KIAS. This problem was ddriving me crazy!!! I'm glad the fix was as simple as a click of the mouse button. Thanks all for taking the time to read and respond. Shea
