Immersive Audio 737NG CFM Immersion Soundpack HD released

Guys:

The argument on who's sound is more correct is completely useless: Accuracy of sound is relative to the person's ear. There are so many variables to think of that might change the sound that one hears. One person might think they are accurate and another might think they are completely off.

People love new sounds, and for me, after years with the same sound in the 737 it's nice to have a change for once. It's not a bad thing.

Regardless of a persons ear, when one person listens to sound A ( the real 737) and sound B ( the substitute sound from a sim), that person should be able to say if they are alike or not.

Yes, I couldn't say it any better. Many variables are in the game - person's opinion what sounds realistic or not, sound card, speakers, headphones and even user's hearing. There is a reason why we are working closely with real world pilots, to remove as many variables as (if) possible.

Hi,

How did you get rid of the default vacum cleaner sound? As far as i can tell its not part of the SP3 version. I just overwright all sounds.

Thanks Michael Moe

I'm even not sure anymore do you guys refer to the cockpit ambience or external APU sound? Anyway, I will update the soundpack with our own APU external sound so it could fit our engine sounds perfectly. When you set External Sounds to 100 in the NGX FMC, default NGX APU sound will practically "cover" our engine sounds.

EDIT:
I completely forgot that APU is not running during the flight lol. There are two files that are heard loud on external cameras, external fuel pumps and hydraulics. I'm now focused on adapting those sounds to our soundpack, so you can use external sounds value at 100.

Best regards

Can someone help me with install?

The Various sound folder isn't a problem and crystal clear. I'm wondering about the PMDG NGX folders. It says to rename the original folder. That means all files and the sound textfile will loose effect.
I tested it and I'm not sure if that really sound good. I felt that there is missing something... Maybe it's only because of my feeling...

PS: I'm also using the Cockpit Sound files

You are renaming original "sound" folder to "sound.OR" to make a backup of original sounds. THen you will copy the Sound and Simobjects folders from our package, that includes all the sounds and sound.cfg file.

@Pe11e
I was only wondering about the different files. In your folder are 54 files and in PMDG there are around 95. And my fault, I did not recognize the sound.cfg file. Sorry for that.

By the way, I guess same procedure for the -700 too?

@clocki

For 600/700 models you have to manually copy the sound folder from PMDG 737-800NGX folder to a folder that contains sound files for the 600/700 model. I will include the compatibility for 600/700 models in the upcoming update.

Which is the 737NGX-700/ sound      folder.  Now wonder when I flew the 700 this morning, the sounds were different.

Here I use it with Prosim after disabeling some sounds ( already present in ProsimAudio )

Is this with the latest ProSim V2 738/739 models? They seem to have all their own names, not the usual standard names. Are they all working okay is it stands, or did you need to do some renaming?

Further, are they an improvement on the latest sounds from ProSim?

Thanks,

Pete

Hi Pete,

This is with the latest V2 models. I have disabled ( renamed ) all WAV files that also are present in ProsimAudio .

The Prosim V2 sounds are the same as the V2 release version.

Okay. Thanks.  I've installed it ready to test tomorrow. I too will look at ProSimAudio -- is the only way to disable sounds in the to rename / move out the wave files? I thought there was a configuration someplace -- in ProSim EXE perhaps?

Pete

I have disabled the double sounds in the Immersion set , not in Prosim Audio.

Oh, I see! So, for those sounds at least, ProSim ones are better?

It is what you prefer . All ProsimAudio spoken sounds are from the same person, so with double sounds I prefer Prosim or what I feel suits better.

Yes, I've now done as you, but for those duplicates there's really not all that much difference. Just don't want the echo! ;-)

Thanks,
Pete

I've installed it and I'm very happy with it. I've had two rare opportunities to fly on jump seat in the cabin and the flight deck sounds (excluding  switches sounds) are spot on. The outside sounds seem more realistic because as you pan from front to back of aircraft they change nicely to I would consider more realistic (just a guess). However this install has caused a minor issue and that is that I no longer can hear any ground  staff & push back sounds. Would be grateful if anyone knows how to fix this.  .
