I am about to purchase a 4K TV for P3D, likely in the 49 to 50 inch range.  My computer is an 8700K with 1080Ti video card.

I have two questions that I need some advice on.

1) On every TV I look at, I cannot find any reference to it being able to run 30 Hz.  They all say 60 or even 120 but nothing about 30.  Can I just assume that it has this mode but its not listed in the spec document?

2) What is the recommended lag time in ms ?  i see TV's from 1ms all the way up to 9ms and have no idea if this makes a difference for Flight Sim use.

Hi Mark,

1/120 = 0.00833 or just over 8ms

Monitors can refresh at 120 but receive frames at 30 and just keep repeating those few frames.

So you might be able to leave the monitor at 120 but set a refresh in an NCP profile for 30 that P3D VSync=On looks to.

If you use 30 locked on the slider you can leave the TV at 120.

Thanks for the info Steve, this is exactly what I was looking for.

I just ordered a 43'' 4K TV. I can't wait to see how it improves my P3D visual environment!

Mark, Have a look at this site. They test TVs and tell you whether it runs as 30 hz and at what resolution and color quality.

Simming on a 4K TV is awesome. You won't regret your purchase.
