2d panels for 737 NGX?

Featured Replies

On the PREPAR3D NOTES:

It says: 'This product uses a full virtual cockpit and includes some 2D panels. (Some pop-up functions avail.)'

What does this mean exactly? What are those some 2D panels available in 2D?

I definitely need 2D panels to undock instruments to multiple monitors.

As far as I know, the 2D panels aren't traditional 2D panels. They're popups of the displays, which can serve as 2D panels - but full traditional 2D panels aren't included.

Incorrect, in addition to the pop up instruments displays, there are 2D panels included with the PMDG NGX for Prepared. The default keys for selecting the 2d panels are shift+1-9. The only area not covered by 2d panels is the throttle quadrant. But that wasn't in the NGX for FSX either.

Dave,

If this is true, I wonder if a Prepar3D PMDG NGX can be installed and work without problems in FSX.

It's not recommended to use the shift+ option for the panels. Better used the clickspot. 2D panel are explained on page 55 of the introduction document

Sotiri.

It can't. P3D and FSX are different platforms with different licenses and different installers.

P3D installer can be installed on P4Fv3.3+ and P3DV4.X

FSX installer can be installed to FSX and FSXSE

OK, but FSX version still doesn't include 2D panels, right ?

Both FSX and P3D versions of the NGX have the same 2d panels options
