In P3Dv4.3 : Open the Menu taskbar in P3D Go to Views Go to Manage Camera's Fill in a name for the new Camera view At the right from the list at the bottom check "Wideview" Set the zoom you want ( best 0.31 --> has to be higher than 0.30 ) Save as Scenario Fly without distortion ... Gerard--thank you very much for pointing this out. I have been running three screens in Nvidia surround for as long as I can remember. This fix makes the sim, literally, breathtaking. Flying without distortion with three 43" screens at 4k with this fix is the best I have ever experienced. If this could be put in P3D "tips and tricks" or whatever, it would be a great service to the P3D community. Jay Forever indebted to the late Michael Greenblatt of FSGS.

July 24, 20187 yr I guess this would work for those that are able to adjust the physical position of the monitors. In my case, from the captain seat my screens "wrap around" 222 degrees. So limiting my FOV to 150 degrees although it would increase performance, it would also create the wrong aspect ratio. So taxing at 50 kts wont seem fast at all due to zoom factor. I hope one day there is a native solution to this. Is the only drawback to P3D IMO. The Full Motion Stream Twitch: DAL213 YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFrr16hu6X_-mnVaIGJZ5MA? I don't see the horizon any more curved than it should be, i.e. almost imperceptible at lower altitudes and higher altitudes a little more curved as it should be. I am, however, encountering difficulties in the altered view virtual cockpit with A2A aircraft. The clickspots are not where they're supposed to be. Since I use GoFlight modules, this doesn't affect me, but it sure would make this new view in the VC unacceptable without GF. Also, when changing views, such as from the new view VC to spot, going back to the VC puts it back in "normal" mode and you have to make sure you change to the new view VC. All in all, I'm going to use this new view exclusively when in the VC, which is 95% of the time. Forever indebted to the late Michael Greenblatt of FSGS.

I thought this might help with a single monitor as well but it does not seem to do anything except give very jaggard runway lines. gb. YSSY. August 5, 20187 yr This sounds like good news. Regardin wideview distortion it comes alot better with this fix, but as a side affect I get pretty bad AA. Somebody else experiencing this?

Somebody else experiencing this? Because of the recalculation in the middle of the view indeed you can see some shimmering and AA loss. It depends on the angle towards objects/scenery. From close up it looks good. Clouds look good. Ground scenery + 3D objects in the distance , especially when banking will show some shimmering and AA loss. Don’t know if that can be fixed with other Shaders from the same menu or perhaps LM might improve it in the future. August 5, 20187 yr Ok, I’ll do some testing. Pretty bad AA on my current setup: 5760x1920 res, Wide View Aspect Ratio on and zoom factor at 1.0. Will try to disable WVAR and set zoom to 3.1 and see if that makes it better. Edited August 5, 20187 yr by OPAC Typo
March 1, 20197 yr Hello, I have been using the NV Surround distortion fix for some time and it does work great. Recently I upgraded to the latest Prepar3D V4 version and when I click the "Wideview" option the screen applies the correction but it turns the image extremely dark. Does anybody know what could be happening? Thanks Juan

Try reinstalling your Shaders ( cliënt un- and reinstall ) . That will take less then 5 minutes... 5950x3d 5.4-5.7 GHz - Asus ROG 870 Crosshair Apex - GSkill Neo 2x 24 Gb 6000 mhz / cas 26 - MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC - 1x SSD M2 6000 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb - Corsair 5400 case - Corsair 360 liquid cooling set - 3x 75’ TCL tv. 13600 6 cores @ 5.1 GHz / 8 cores @ 4.0 GHz (hypterthreading on) - Asus ROG Strix Gaming D - GSkill Trident 4x Gb 3200 MHz cas 15 - Asus TUF RTX 4080 16 Gb - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 2TB - 2x Sata 600 SSD 500 Mb - Corsair D4000 Airflow case - NXT Krajen Z63 AIO liquide cooling - FOV : 200 degrees My flightsim vids : https://www.youtube.com/user/fswidesim/videos?shelf_id=0&sort=dd&view=0
March 2, 20197 yr Hello Gerard, I did the uninstall - re-install the Client but nothing happened. What I did, I went back to Manage Cameras, and deleted the original WIDEVIEW, and created a new one, using the original instructions and it did work. Thanks for your help.
