I'm puzzled by what you mean as "view", my understanding is that you can select individual monitors to be used as a "surround" display. If you aren't selecting all the monitors for a surround display, then the non-surround display must be plugged into the "master" GPU. So in your case, P3D will see two Displays, one of those displays is a surround display (2 monitors) and the other is a standard display in which you create a P3D "view" for that display single display. Is this accurate? If so, have you tried using nVidia Surround for all 3 displays (so P3D sees just one display) and then create two views (one view for middle + right monitor and one view for left monitor) ... I would think that would produce the best results. Are all 3 monitors the same and do they use the same port protocol (HDMI or DisplayPort or DVI)? Cheers, Rob.

I believe HWINFO64 will monitor throttling triggers counts over time ... that's about the only other thing I can think of that might reduce FPS over time. And what is your throttle trigger set to in your EFI/BIOS (I think I have mind set to 105C) Cheers, Rob.

Mine is set to 80 degrees Celcius, and my EKWB Extreme radiator with push and pull fans is placed outside the case. Never seen more than 58 degrees Celcius... Your suggestion for the throttle triggers software is s good idea. I will surely purchase one. However, as Steve stared earlier in the thread : if saving the flight, rebooting P3D and loading the saved flight brings back up the framerate it probably is not a heat issue. With a P3D restart the Sim starts flushed ( clean ) again . August 14, 20187 yr Author Just did a 1 hout test with framerate locked at 24, no vsync, no TB. After 50 min the framerate dropped below the 24 an dafter 1 hour it was 19.5-20 fps... With a P3D restart the Sim starts flushed ( clean ) again. I wonder if that explains why the Prepar3D flash screen takes longer to appear with subsequent restarts of the sim: First start: almost instant, Subsequent starts: 9-10secs (Prepar3D is flushing the scenery cache?). This, of course, assumes the host rig has not been warm rebooted or shutdown and cold rebooted between restarts of Prepar3D. Mike
August 17, 20187 yr Author After Steve W guided me on setting up things better ( amount of cores / which of the 14 cores and in what order / the exact AM ) : Now when landing at Amsterdam Schiphol I still have a lower framerate ( 18-20 ) but higher than before ( 13 )... Also a scenery refresh before landing ( p3d menu ) gives back the high franerate. Very odd, never seen that process improve FPS (assume AI traffic gets reset also) but you have a lot of other variables in your sim setup ... your FPS are about half as good as my single 4K monitor setup with single GPU. FYI, you can map a scenery re-load to any controller button under controllers section in P3D so you don't have to use P3D menu to do it, just a hit a button. Cheers, Rob.
August 17, 20187 yr Author Hi Rob, This behaviour only shows when coming from any European country and landing at FT Amsterdam Schiphol + True Earth Netherlands + AI. Just tried a landing coming from Germany. Going from east and flying west over the IJssellake and then turning teft towards 18C. In front of my Schiphol ( 6 runway ) and at the left the complete city of Amsterdam plus its harbours and small towns in the neighbourhood. And around me AI aircraft taking off and landing. That is the moment the framerate starts to get lower. After landing the lower franerate remains. but a scenery refresh brings back up the framerate. No issues when starting at Schiphol and landing anywhere in Europe. Then my starting franerate is over 30... August 28, 20187 yr Author After returning from my holiday in Egypt I went back to P3D. I was able to have 4-5 fps more at approach/landing/taxiing by disabling the Daytime rw Lighting ( Low Visibility setting in the FT configurator ). However , there still is a difference in framerate between being at the airport after a flight compared to loading a Saved flight. Vid 1 : after a 1h flight ( Frankfurt - Amsterdam ) I taxied along several terminals to end at rw 24. Watch the GPU load. Vid 2 : a Saved flight that I loaded after making vid 1. No shutdown of P3Dv4.3. Watch the GPU load. So after landing the GPU load goes up to 96% and 75 degrees Celcius, while a fresh loaded Saved flight ( same place ) shows a GPU load of 74% with 68 degrees Celcius. CPU load is low.. Framerate after a flight is about 20% less compared to the loaded Saved flight. August 28, 20187 yr Commercial Member The GPU load goes up 20% and you see 20% drop in fps. I wonder maybe the distant objects are loading 'eventually' rather than 'quickly ' as you fly. Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com
