August 15, 20187 yr Hi all, I am using CS 757 iii and I am not able to exceed 25 fps with this aircraft although I am able to stay with my frames locked at 30 with other complex aircraft (see in my sig). I cannot exceed 25 fps even at cruise. So after a hard a decision 😀 I decided it's time to compromise on my P3D v4.3 settings. I started a flight in LatinVFR KMIA with ORBX Global/LC/Trees, UT Live, Active Sky & FFTF Dynamic as I wanted to do my tests in a relatively heavy scenario. I started at 7:00 so I could experience shadows as well. From searching the forums I've found that the biggest fps killers are AG, shadows and reflections so I aimed to play with these sliders. I managed to maintain ~23 fps on the ground in KMIA and ~19 fps in the air @~1,000 AGL with +/- 3 fps fluctuations with my default settings (see below) - Edit: I have use high resolution terrain textures OFF & dynamic lighting ON HOWEVER, once reducing 1 slider at a time I saw no impact on my fps! Turning OFF shadows, reflections or reducing AG to None has not changed my fps! 😳 My specs are in my sig I have a GTX 970 & i7 4790K @4.4 (turbo boost) and have my frames locked at 30.5 in NVI only (locking my frames in-game always resulted in less fps and more stutters) I am using the fast sync tweak in NVI as I use TrackIR as well. Could this be related to the fact that maybe these are all CPU dependent settings and my actual bottleneck is the GPU?  Any help appreciated, Shom Shom  MSFS2024 running on Win 11, 4K screen, Z790 AORUS ELITE AX-W, i9-14900K, MSI 3080Ti, Corsair 2x32GB 6000 MHz, 1+2TB M.2 NVMEs

August 15, 20187 yr Mine are all maxed and rarely get < 40 FPS except at KSFO which spawns a lot of UTII traffic like 300+ aircraft. Improving smoothness is harder than improving FPS IMO. 7700K @4.6 1070GTX 2x in SLI  Regards bs Edited August 15, 20187 yr by bean_sprout AMD RYZEN 9 5900X 12 CORE CPU - ZOTAC RTX 3060Ti GPU - NZXT H510i ELITE CASE - EVO M.2 970 500GB DRIVE - 32GB XTREEM 4000 MEM - XPG GOLD 80+ 650 WATT PS - NZXT 280 HYBRID COOLER

August 16, 20187 yr I also have i7 [email protected] and GTX970. I don't have LatinVFR KMIA or CS 757. But for example on FlyTampa LOWW with PMDG 737 NGX I get around 40FPS. That's with target frame rate set to unlimited. If I limit frames I get like 20FPS, non stop stutters and it's not flyable. I also don't use dynamic lighting because I think 970 is just too weak to handle it and at the same time maintain good FPS. Tomaz Drnovsek My FSX Videos My AVSIM Gallery

Yep its the CS 757 which is performing low for me... same for the AS Airbus Pro at some conditions I get the feeling I will need to upgrade my GPU soon enough I might as well try maxing up those settings, who knows maybe fps won't go down as they are not going up...  Shom Shom  MSFS2024 running on Win 11, 4K screen, Z790 AORUS ELITE AX-W, i9-14900K, MSI 3080Ti, Corsair 2x32GB 6000 MHz, 1+2TB M.2 NVMEs
August 16, 20187 yr Both my old 970 and now my 1070 have got lot better performance with unlimited frames on complex airports and aircraft . I have same processor and overclock.. Colin hodds I7 9700K,nvidia 3090 ,ssd ,32gig 3200mhz ram ,win10,prep3d

What is your AI traffic slider set at? My experience it shouldn't be more than 25 for airlines and 35 for GA. I HIGHLY suggest when flying an airliner, you set GA AI at 0, and airline AI at 25. When flying GA, set your AI slider no more than 30-35 and set the ailine AI slider to 0. Will upgrade as usual but don't have a good buy signal yet. Turned off all AI and there is hardly any change in fps. Looks like the issue is around big airports - I can get down to 15 fps using a complex airliner. Above ~4000 ft I can get to my locked 30 fps (including CS 757 iii) as long as the weather isn't catastrophe. I wonder if this is inline with my settings & HW? Maybe the GPU is limiting me?  Thanks! August 18, 20187 yr Bean Sprout looks cool but hope the volume is low! Biggest earphones I've seen in some time. My quick 2 cents here, from the original post it seems related to the aircraft, CS 757.  Remember the overall framerate is somewhat akin to the weakest link in the chain, if all other things are equal, and the aircraft the differentiator, then...it may well be the CS 757 may need further optimization. Mark  Mark Trainer Â
