September 8, 20187 yr IN FSX and P3dv4 I find the top down view helpful to quickly orient myself when moving about an airport. I tried to recreate these views in Chaseplane by moving to the proper perspective above the airplane, but unlike the default views native to the sim, fog and clouds can obscure the view making it worthless. is there a way to recreate the default top down view in Chaseplane without weather interfering? Thanks Greg Greg Clark
September 8, 20187 yr Commercial Member I do it by going external, placing the view point above the aircraft and moving my hat switch down to look at the aircraft. Then I set that as a position so I can go there anytime I wish. Wonderful feature! I don't know if there is another way, but the above works perfect for me. Best wishes. September 9, 20187 yr Author I think I do the same thing pretty much, but to get high enough to see a lot of the airport, I get into the fog if there is any. That has never happened to you? Maybe I should try again and pay more attention to the particular situation when it happens. I think the default top down view is purely graphical that is not looking down through the atmosphere, but looking onto a graphical portrayal of the airport layout. Not really sure. Greg Greg Clark
September 12, 20187 yr Commercial Member This is not possible with ChasePlane at this time, can you still use the default Top-Down view without issues? Keven Menard Technical Director, //42.
September 16, 20187 yr Author Hi Keven, I will try out the default top down and let you know how well it works. Greg Greg Clark
February 17, 20197 yr I use the P3D default top-down without issues. I have assigned HotKeySelect = 7 to it in camera.cfg since there are no conflicts and then a button to load it. I use FSUIPC5 but I expect P3D settings will work as well.
