UK2000 airports

I still don't understand. UK2000 Gatwick Xtreme has a HUGE number of gates available. Are you saying that every single one of them was occupied when you arrived??

On a side note, are you using the "Airline Codes" option for parking spots? You can check to see if this is the case by looking in your UK2000 Scenery/UK2000 Gatwick Xtreme/Scenery folder for the file EGKK_AFX_UK2xTRM.bgl. The other option (EGKK_AFX_UK2xGEN.bgl) adds static aircraft to many of the gate locations, and will significantly reduce the number of gates available for the AI planes.

I have to admit, I didn't know any of this. Visually, not all of them are occupied when I arrive - I can see empty ones, despite not being offered a parking or gate slot. So no, in answer to your first question, they don't look occupied at all.

I'll have a look at the two files you mentioned, but I don't know anything about them : I've never even open one of them! I'll see how it goes. Thanks for your advice.

Actually, I forgot that you already stated that you can see empty gates, so you really should not have a problem being allocated one in an A320. I think that your best bet is to ask the same question over on the UK2000 forum, so that the other members of the team can have a think about it!

Is it GSX not offering a gate or P3D ATC? GSX only offer certain gates to park. O have to use the GSX hot key to decrease the airline density at certain airports in the US also. You might also try the GSX forum. I use ProAtc and in the flight plan editor before the flight I assign parking. Once it does that, GSX will usually make that gate assignment as well.

Yeah, I'm waiting for membership of that forum. I will ask there.

Neither of them are offering a gate. I tried to reduce the airline traffic to 50% and it didn't work - EGKK was still not offering me a parking space. I have assumed it was because I'm arriving very early in the morning- probably before the first departure? Still, I would expect a parking space that is recognised by the system being offered to me.

That's what I was wondering. I do not use GSX, so I do not know how it works. What parameters does GSX use to determine a suitable parking spot?

It actually asks you what parking slot you want, but if the airport is full (I think), you only get messages that a gate is busy (which ever one you choose), but about to become free - even though the comment might about becoming free is useless, I find.

1.  What ATC are you using? I use ProATC. It has the ability to assign a gate you specify by editing the flight plan before you activate the flight plan.

2. What are you using to generate traffic? I use UTLive and it can easily reduce the traffic at the airport using their hot key. If you use this app, be sure to set AI to 0 in P3D settings.

3. If you are also using GSX, I find the by assigning the arrival gate in ProATC, the gate is normally available also in GSX without having to reduce traffic in UTLive.

4. If you're using default P3D ATC then I don't have an recommendation to that part of the question.

Does your A320 have a defined atc_parking_code in the flightsim.cfg file, Gary?

I bought ProATC, and I've tried to use it so many times, but I have trouble understanding the instructions. I will no doubt try again shortly - it is installed.  Do you recommend it above the standard P3D ATC?

I am also using UTLive. I thought I had tried this out by reducing the traffic. I assume this is the page you are referring to? I have tried it down to 50% and that diddn't make a difference, but I'll give it another go.

I don't know. Do you know where those files are? I've tried searching for a file called flightsim.cfg and couldn't find one.

 How about a screenshot or two of what you are seeing in the sim? Maybe you are looking for a spot labeled as a Gate but GSX is calling what you see available as a GA spot or something. What is the particular parking spot number that you are looking to park at?

The file you are also looking for is the Aircraft.cfg located within your A320 folder.

I think it's 143 (the parking slot) I've just done a flight and noticed that there are plenty of aircraft leaving the airport - so why, when I go to the ATC window, does it only allow me the options to take off (such as go-around). It never allows me to taxi to gates or anything at EGKK. This suggests to me that it's a problem with P3D, because P3D is not recognising gates for me, even though other AI aircraft have left them free.

This shot from UTLive, should show that only 76% are being filled, but as I mentioned, I think I need that sort of option in P3D - I want to tell P3D not to fill gates. I followed the instructions for UTLive, which say to turn off the AI traffic in P3D, but that doesn't seem to have helped.

I'm guessing why EGKK is always full for me - it won't let me park. To be honest, I don't think it's GSX or any other addon - gives me the option when I land. It's possible it's UTLive if it's telling P3D that all the gates are full.

I'm trying to get into contact with the people at Uk2000, but having some trouble.

Sorry, I forgot to mention - the codes in that file are:

atc_parking_types            = GATE, RAMP
atc_parking_codes               = BAE

Can you try removing the "BAE" from the atc_parking_codes statement in your aircraft.cfg file, and try again? What seems to be the problem at the UK2000 forum?

I'll try clearing BAE and give it another go. Sounds useful.

I am to have managed to post something in the UK2000 forum. Don't know what the problem was before.

Hi

I'm having trouble landing here because P3Dv4 doesn't seem to want to give me a gate. When I land and switch to the local frequency to get a gate, I only get the options to take off again.

Anyone else got this problem?
