747-400 Panel States after Update

Featured Replies

I have updated the 744 for P3D as requested by the PMDG OC. The update worked fine, but unfortunately, it seems that panel states of previously saved flights don't load anymore. Anyone else observing this?

Yes,

what I did was reload the Default "Long" panel state and created a slightly modified version of my own from there.

One thing I noticed is that on these new panel states, the captain displays are not set to NORMAL mode but to PFD if I recall correctly (not sitting in front of it right now).

Just flipped it to NORMAL, and saved my own version of LONG to a file and then selected this one as default for startup.

Regards.

If you’re seeing oddities, you have an old panel state. I didn’t set them the way you’re describing, so it sounds like an old panel state on your comp.

Sorry, I am speaking from flights which I saved BEFORE the recent update. I can load them, but EICAS, MFD, etc. remain black, because  no "Initializing phase" (20 sec green bar) happens. I am sure that I did a correct uninstall-reinstall (update).

Right. Those flights are looking for old panel state files. If they exist, they will be old, and incompatible.

Kyle - there is definitely an issue with panel states.. i deleted all panel states from the folder, repaired my base pack and expansion pack installations.. that restored some default panel states.. but issue now is i'm not able to disengage the GPU, air-con, etc.. it worked just once and is not repeatable.. every time i set a cold and dark state as my start up state, and reload the sim + plane (fresh start), the features like disconnecting GPU, etc don't work.

this affects both the 744 and 748.. 777 seems to be okay..

Mind sending your panel states to support? I'm not seeing it on my comp at all, and I paid particular attention to states through the whole alpha and beta process, due to their importance to PMDG Global Flight Operations.
