Do you also have an older boxed version of FSX installed?  Welcome to the AVSIM forums.

not installed any old version. only one

For FSX, you need SP1 and SP2 installed - https://support.precisionmanuals.com/kb/a87/how-to-uninstall-and-reinstall-fsx.aspx

If you have the old boxed version of FSX, I would suggest buying FSX-SE which has SP1 and SP2 included.

SP2 - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8986

I cannot find SP1.

He states that he has FSX-SE installed, so no need for the SPs.

Alex,

Did you select FSX-SE as the install option when you first start the install?  If not, maybe the install can't find the location of your FSX-SE system.

the warning comes out immediately after loading the first window of the install shield wizard of the pmdg

I think your best possible solution is to submit a ticket with your purchase info included to the official PMDG site.

Where did you install FSX-SE?  On which drive?

I've read about problems installing on the C drive.  Check your permissions, and make sure you are running the installer as admin.  I had no difficulty installing 4 of the PMDG applications in my FSX-SE system but I have my system on a separate SSD D Drive.  Did you open a ticket with PMDG?  Let me know how this comes out.

I do not have the steam addition but i would hazard to guess that the PMDG installer is looking for the proper simconnect version(s).
Steam has it's own (62615) and also installs (61259 acceleration?) you can find the other 2 (RTM & Sp1) installers in following paths, or similar - run them.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\FSX\SDK\Core Utilities Kit\SimConnect SDK\LegacyInterfaces\FSX-RTM
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\FSX\SDK\Core Utilities Kit\SimConnect SDK\LegacyInterfaces\FSX-SP1

You're probably right.  I do remember a message about simconnect but I didn't have any problems installing so I ignored it.  I also installed FSX-SE on a separate SSD so my experience was different than Alex.
