window heat: any effect without?

Featured Replies

Hard to forget it and I had not real cing conditions till now, but does have window heat off any effect when in icing conditions?

Especially with the new rainmaker feature?

Same question for airframe icing ...

many thanks

Icing is not simulated.  Those window heaters are not only for ice prevention but also keep the windscreens from experiencing thermal stress.  It is not unusual to leave them on.  Notice the amplified Normal Procedures for after landing, shutdown or secure does not turn off the window heaters.

You'll see related fogging up with it off, with Rainmaker, when conditions are right.
