I would like to have realistic night time settings for P3Dv4.3 and would appreciate feedback as to how this can be achieved from users who have managed to get the sweet spot.

Thanks

It depends of what you are looking for, is it darker nights? some people use blackmarble, others toga and evenshade, others Reshade (free).

There is also a freeware that improves AI airplanes lighting at night and day.

So it all depends of what you are looking for.

Thanks for your reply.

Yes darker nights but still maintain realistic lighting in VC mode. In your opinion, which of the above mentioned is the easiest to use and provide good results?

best regards

It will come down to the use of shaders (I use PTA tool), HDR settings and your monitor settings.  There are a couple settings in PTA that are useful for brightening and changing the saturation the ground lights.  You can also adjust VC darkness as well within PTA as well.

I use ENVSHADE by TOGA projects, which modifies the shaders and gives a nice dark night and not that half bright night by default. I think it’s only $7.

I also found a good way to get darker nights was to have use one of my presets on my display set for that type of flying.
