WW II Dog Fighting Game Online ETC..

Featured Replies

Fellow Simmers, Hello anyone out there know of a WW II dogfighting PC Game with good flight characteristics and a slight level of realism and effects? Thanks, Josh

By far IL-2 Forgotten Battles, no other option. You can grab the "all in one pack" that includes IL-2FB with the Aces expansion and Pacific Fighters addon for about $40. All three work with each other.http://www.interactcd.com/cgi/PrintDetails...003307210224316AMAZING to say the least. No contest for a WWII flight simulator with an amazing FM.

Guys he said SLIGHT level of realism; most online IL2 based servers are running full realism. Which for the novice is too realistic; flying warbirds on that level could be a possible turn off. I'm personally in the most realistic as possible camp.I suggest WWII online or ACES High.

I used to use these online fighter sims a while back, they could be extremely fun and extremely frustrating at the same time. Ihad Air Warrior, Warbirds I and II (I don't think I ever got to try III!) and a little Fighter ACE. Back then there was some cheating going on. I'm sure the technology has adveanced since then that this is minimised. When you know you have a fighter in your sights, you can actually see the bullets hitting his plane and no kill is registered, then seconds later your dead, from someone that wasn't even on the map, with a single shot. Or you your at an opponents six just ready to fire and he pulls a Houdini! He disappears and a second later he's on your six. Now you see it now you don't, and again your toast!!

Thanks

My apologies then Tom, missed that part. I agree, I used to be big into CFS2 and it got rather frustrating with all the cheats used that it just ruined the experience. I'd love to find a good set of guys to fly with that are into realism, yet behave like adults.Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/ambanner.jpg

Sorry Michael, you are right...I mistakenly thought he was speaking of online. I agree that IL2 full package up to v4.05 would be the best option.

I remember Airwarrior, I spent a fortune(burned up a credit card) in connection cost to the hosting mainframe thru Delphi and the Concentric network.I flew for the CAF "Cactus Airforce" hehe man those were the days in 94-95. Our squad was so big we had our own dedicated bomber wing and a few hard headed tankers that would drive realtime for over an hour just to get on a hill to shell the enemy airfield. :-)Of course I flew for the country BLand :D spent many a day hunting Alanders and Clanders in my FW190A8 (course it took quite a bit of time to master it)

The best option BY FAR!Get at least IL-2 FB (I have seen it as chaep as $5 in the bargin bin). And if you got the coin get the complete version (with all the addons, well worth it).A few friends and I have a LAN party over here at my place a couple times a year and IL-2 always makes it into the fray. Some are very good and some are not but we always have a great time.End of thread unless your talking about how great IL-2 is......

Aces High II has a 700 person server that is usually more than half full...
