Cloud 9's next airport is...............................

Guess I won't be getting it anytime soon...

Vista is allot farther off than people realize. I would have thought most developers would hold off a bit before making FSX only titles. Seeing there may be a need for many simmers to do a full upgrade on hardware, many won't tackle that until Vista and DX10 Graphic Cards hit the market. I for one am in that crowd. Cloud9 most likely won't see my purchase for this title until next summer...

Well Dillon, I don't think I've seen a version of FS come out yet where payware dev's didn't start developing for the latest version of FS as quickly as they could, and instead kept their development path on the older version of FS. Freeware guys may be a different matter. Now, FSX does not require Vista by any means, and I'll bet that a lot of people will be hanging on to their WinXP for quite a long time after Vista comes out. If you want DX10 apparently you will have to get Vista, but they certainly aren't needed to for developing FSX addons or running FSX.I ran the FSX demo and I get the feeling there won't be any need for me to upgrade my DX9 system to run FSX just fine. I'll probably be hanging on to my current system and WinXP for along time to come, with FSX running on it, even after the arrival of Vista and DX10. I'm willing to bet I'm not alone.Imagine developers holding off on making addons for FSX right now. I don't know about anyone else, but I can't imagine that.Regards

OneTin,Let me clear this up a bit. No one is saying don't develop for the next version of FSX but you and I both know developers make versions for both until the newer sim has matured on the market a bit. I won't be able to run FSX on my current system and get graphics comparable to FS9 (this is just what I believe based on what I'm already getting in FS9 and what I've gotten out of the demo). I could see a developer going this route in

Could be you thought wrong Dillon, I get decent performance from the demo, comparable to what I had going from FS2002 to FS9 and the final product should be even better. I do plan to get Vista, but I see no reason based on the feedback from the ACES team why you can't enjoy FSX right after release with some slider tweaking.I can't see any reason for a developer to continue doing FS9 specific designs at this point. With the amount of time involved in projects these day and the many new FSX features that will not work in FS9, it is pointless to waste your time. Rememeber, time is money.Another thing to consider, saying your product will work with FSX is not the same as saying it was designed to take advantage of FSX's new features, plus many will say FSX compliant to build the hype of their product since everyone is looking for that. KMCO !! YES FINALLY !!!Kind Regards:Alexander

How are they making this scenery? Do they get a special copy from Microsoft? Or are they using the demo to allign the scenery the what is in the default? I mean would things change between now and the final product, or am I off base here? Also I will eventually be switching to FSX (but not at first). Im sure alot of people would be sticking with FS9. They could make a lot more money is they offer a version of this scenery for both FSX and FS9.

Really?I say YAWN!To each his own!

What's a YAWN for you, is a YAHOO for others, Have a good sleep!

Hehe.I do love the landing Dave Henry does there in the ITVV DVD.Personally we need CYYZ done.

Al Stiff

I Agree 100% CYYZ is lacking. Canada's busiest airport and the only one to do it, is simflyers, and it's crap and outdated by todays standards. I Wish FlyTampa or Cloud9 would do that one.

CYYZ is being done by Flight Ontario. It should be out in the late fall along with FSx. I do think you will like what we are doing since just by adding some version 3 shader goodies to the visuals will make a big differance to how things will look in the sim. Please note you will of course not need Vista to see the above in the sim. Dan Martin. Team Flight Ontario

I can understand from a commercial point of view that Cloud9 are now concentrating on American airports but I am personally disappointed as my flying takes place in Europe and I rarely fly in the States. Still, American flyers are in for a treat as Cloud9 are IMO top notch developers
