April 27, 20197 yr Are you referring to the ini file in the aircraft folder? If so, I've already done that. Marlon Carter - AVSIM Reviewer
April 27, 20197 yr I'm referring to "DebugValue" and "LogTrainer" settings. This should show in the rxpGtnSim.dll.log file when they are enabled somehow.
April 28, 20197 yr I've added the debug settings to the ini file in my A2A C172 folder and they are enable but the log doesn't show anything after trying to load the GTN650. Marlon Carter - AVSIM Reviewer
April 28, 20197 yr Can you post the content of the RealityXP.GTN.ini file here? make sure to use the 'spoiler' button (the 'eye' icon to the right of the Font drop-down).
April 30, 20197 yr Here is the debug entry on one of the default aircreation aircraft. I added a 2D panel of the GTN650 Spoiler [GTN_650_1] ; is the master device if true. The entries must be set in the device section settings, not it''s 'display/rendering' section settings, like this: [GTN_650_1] DebugValue = 1 LogTrainer = 1 ...

May 1, 20197 yr @Caribpilot are you sure you're added a GTN 650 Unit #1 to the aircraft? Can you please post the content of the panel.cfg file (in a 'spoiler' box)?

May 1, 20197 yr Does your Windows user account name have a space in it, by chance? Could you try with an account whose name doesn’t have spaces in the name? Create a new account to try, don’t try to rename an existing one. I found a bug in the Garmin Trainer related to spaces in usernames and reported it to them. I saw that this seemed to be where people were actively complaining about black screen/blank screen/no power with the GTN Trainer, so I signed up here just to offer you all this suggestion.
May 1, 20197 yr @supermarket Thank you for joining and for the suggestion. Now that you're mentioning it I'm wondering a few more things in the trainer. What did lead you to find this? Edited May 1, 20197 yr by RXP
May 2, 20197 yr @RXP I noticed that GTN Simulator.exe was being launched with a --configpath argument naming a sim_session.json file somewhere under %TMP%. The path wasn’t quoted, so anyone with spaces in %TMP% would run into trouble. %TMP%, by default, contains the username (normally, C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Temp). It’s not uncommon to have spaces in usernames on Windows. Like I said, I already notified Garmin and told them how to fix it. But I also figured that a lot of people would hit this, and wanted to as many as I could know what my workaround was in case it helped them out. Edited May 2, 20197 yr by supermarket
