GTN650 Black Screen (resolved)

Featured Replies

I've just tried the suggestion outlined and I've also updated to the latest version of the GTN gauge. Now, instead of being  stuck at the "starting" screen, the screen remains black. The GNS gauges still work just fine however.

@Caribpilot Hi, what about changing the following line in your RealityXP.GTN.ini file to:

LogTrainer = 0

I just gave it a try but it still doesn't work and this is all that shows up in the logs.

@Caribpilot can you please cross check this post in this discussion:

Also, I can't find whether you've both integrated and discrete graphics on your computer. If this is the case you might want to review the "troubleshooting" chapter of the RXP GTN User's Manual about this.

I'm using a temporary laptop at the moment and it has an integrated card. I'm guessing this might be the issue so perhaps I'll just wait for my new PC to arrive.

@Caribpilot Is this laptop also having a discrete Nvidia or AMD video card? If so there is a solution detailed in the RXP GTN User's Manual.

Otherwise, can you please just remove the line with LogTrainer and just use DebugValue = 3 ?

This will put the video card in 'debug' mode with extra info in the log file (if any) and paint the off-screen in red when powering off.

Ok, I will give this suggestion a try and report back. The laptop has an AMD card.

Update - there was no change to the log after changing DebugValue to 3.

Ok, but then what about the discrete vs integrated video card? If this is a laptop there is a great chance you have 2 of them, and the troubleshooting chapter in the RXP GTN User's Manual explains how to 'force' the trainer to run on the discrete video card.

Just to confirm, it's not a laptop.

@mtr75 my post was to @Caribpilot

You've mentioned you've resolved the issue on your system back in December (I've even recommended your post as a solution). Are you having new issues?

Am having similar issue: black screen.

Was working fine for months until today when I downloaded the TXi trainer directly from Garmin as I am thinking of getting one for my plane.

Since then, black screen.

Please help

Hi,

This shouldn't be a problem in itself unless you've omitted during installation to check the non 'XI' GTN as well.

Please make sure to review the content of the RXP log files (see User's Manual for file/path). If may contain further information about what is happening.
