August 17, 200619 yr I have asked this question many times but no one seems to know anything. Has anyone any info on this as FS9 was not particularly good, Very unstable.I use 3 monitors with the Matrox Triple head 2 go. But that system only stretches the one screen across 3 monitors. I am really hoping that by using 2 cards, as in an sli board, it will be possible to setup front, front left and front right views. Keith Sandford.
August 17, 200619 yr I did a very quick run of the FSX demo the other day in windowed mode with the main 3D window on one display and another undocked to the second. Unfortuantely, like with FS9, frame rates dropped into very low single digits, so I don't think this has been improved in FSX (at least yet anyway - the demo only shows FS in progress).BTW, you can run the demo yourself and answer your own question!Gary 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11
August 17, 200619 yr <>Exactly.BTW, here's a tidbit you can try that doesn't even require multiple monitors:1. Go to the keyboard assignment dialog and look for "View - link all (toggle)".2. Assign this to a key combo (I use CTRL+SHIFT+/).3. Load a flight.4. Select the VC view.5. Open a new VC view (from the menu: Views | New View | Cockpit | Virtual Cockpit).6. Use your keyboard/hat switch to pan the new view to look right.7. Press the keys you defined in step 2.8. Pan around. You can optionally repeat steps 5 and 6 and pan in different directions. To revert to normal mode press the key combo again.I'll leave it to you to discover what this can be used for. ;)

I seem to recall that other Matrox TH2G users have posted screenies showing how they've set up their configuration such that they could use the left monitor for their avionics stack, the center for the normal width VC View, and the right monitor for FS Nav (or anything else they wished to display)... August 17, 200619 yr Yes, I do that with planes that have only 2d panels you just drag and resize the panel and subpanels. You dont even have to leave fullscreen mode. Matrox triple head to go is awesome but I warn you. If you try it you will never go back to a single monitor. It's that good. P.S I'm getting 15-25 fps (locked at 25) at 3840 by 1024 resolution with the FSX demo in most situations with full autogen. Not bad at all but a few stutters and I had to tone down the water a bit. Traffic left at default levels. AMD 64 3700+,Asus A8n sli deluxe, 2 gigs ram, BFG7900GTX 512mb (single card)Regards Carlos
August 17, 200619 yr >I'll leave it to you to discover what this can be used for.>;)Oh my God, this is so GREAT ! This linked view is super !I have a x1900xt and fps stay at 24. Yes, i had to reduced too the water, i have no weather, but !!!Thanks a lot !!!!!!denez, fond of dual screen with fs9 !ps: yes, i have to arrange the right view !http:/ /img84.imageshack.us/my.php?image=linkedviewlo2.jpgaie aie, i pause, press spacebar for adjusting zoom with mouse and now i have polygon and artefact on the main view... Quoi de neuf, docteur ?
August 17, 200619 yr denez,Yup.. I did what Mike said too. And yes this is neat. But i have a Q. Do you see any FPS drop? My computer has the FPS jumping all over the place its hard to tell.If there is no substational FPS loss, then this may be a better idea than using the Matrox tri ..whatever gadget. The great thing I noticed is.. when you open a window panel and move it to a second screen, it stays there when in full screen mode. Infact... you can remain in fullscreen mode and not go to windos mode at all for displaying panels and moving it to your other monitors.Neat.Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
August 17, 200619 yr Carlos,I have a 24" widescreen DELL monitor.. .and I have been thinking of this Matrox Triple head thingi too. My only concern has been the limited screen resolution. Does it not bother you?and another benefit of using 3 19" or 20" monitor is..I have a good Fresnel lens picked out for that size. Imagine having these three fresnel lens setup on top of what you have.. I can see it being awesome. I am thinking of getting 3 19" monitors for the front view and then moving the 24" widescreen for my left window (running a second FSX on a second computer..using wideview or multiuser thingi)But with what Mike suggested, I may be able to use the 24" widescreen for the front and the 21" monitors for Left front and right front without the Matrox gadget. But i have no fresnel lens for the widescreen. Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
August 17, 200619 yr Yes a little drop, but very little, but i have to test that more seriously.Mostly I have to wait for the final version !Is it an other bug, water rendition is not the same on main and right view ???For the polygon, i have it an other time without the zoom, but maybe catalyst 6.7 are faulty, we know that 6.8 will correct the dual screen troubles...
August 17, 200619 yr Its funny.,. my second screen was displaying properly but all of a sudden its not. All I see are floating objects.. Its not rendering the scene properly. I have the NVidea FX5900 Ultra AGP Card running on a DELL XPS Gen2 machine.Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
August 17, 200619 yr I use the A key for having the 2D view on the main, what a pity that it became a fps killer.

Thanks a billion.Problem though when I move over windows to my other monitor I cannot click on any knobs and such on that second monitor. I Assume bug. :)edit for not speeling right ;)
August 18, 200619 yr Thanks for the tip guys, and there is nothing I would like more than to test the demo myself, however, I am in Afghanistan with the Mil and am writing this on a welfare computer that is satellite linked, and very slow. It may not be appreciated downloading 800mb of demo. I should have explained, sorry.I have at home 1x32" widescreen for front view and 2x19" for the sides with a TH2Go. Also 3 perfect sized fresnel lenses. This is gonna be great with fsx. Keith Sandford.
August 18, 200619 yr Keith,Can you post the details of your fresnel lens? Where you got them and the size/model# etc?thanksMannyPS Best of luck at what you are doing there. Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
