July 21, 200619 yr What are the addons that you currently have that you would like to be ported to FSX ASAP?These are my current list. (Preferably with some enhancements utilizing the new features and functionaliy in FSX).1. Ultimate Terrain (higher detail than what FSX comes with)2. Mesh Data - FS Genesis (again, higher resolution that MS provides).3. Blue Sky (Freeware).4. Ultimate Traffic6. Active Sky7. Radar Contact.8. Ground environment/Pro utilizing the high resolution textures.9. Megascenery utilizing the new higher resoluion. (don't know how that would affect blurry issues)Aircrafts.1. PMDG 747 with a 5.1 sound and using the new texture feature in FSX2. Aeroworx King Air3. Eaglesoft's SR224. Dreemfleet's Baron5. Real Air's Spitfire and their Decathlon6. Flight1's 172 and ATR 72.Airports.All of Fly Tampa's airports Realsceneries zonesMega Frankfurt and German scenery 4.London scenery/London airportGatwick Pro.FSUIPC and WideFS etc....I am sure I have missed quite a few.Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
July 21, 200619 yr Just my recently purchased aircraft, say within the last 4 to 6 months. I have most of the evironmental addons you mention but I'm pretty much hoping that I can drop them when going to FSX. From what I'm reading, I'll not worry about any of my addons until I give FSX a good run on its own.Dave
July 21, 200619 yr Most importantly, I think we need a version of squawkbox running on FSX! ckyliu, proud supporter of ViaIntercity.com. i5 12400F, 32GB, RTX4070, more in "About me" on my profile.
July 21, 200619 yr REAL Airlines/Liveries will be what's missing for me out of the box it looks like.Carmine http://forums.avsim.net/images/wave.gifhttp://img155.imageshack.us/img155/7118/phoenixtp8mg.jpg
July 21, 200619 yr TTools, AFCAD, AITM, ExcBuilder, Ground2K4, and SceneGenX are my current hopes.Take care,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___ Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
July 21, 200619 yr Tom hit the nail on the head. No TTools or AFCAD and us AI guru types are in big trouble. Big for me are1. FSLive (live AI traffic, only I have ported all the aircraft over to AI Aardvark, Evolve AI, CDAI, etc instead of the FSLive models which are poor, love this program) 2. Megascenery- It will be interesting to see if Aerosoft uses the data they have purchased on previous titles, and instead of dumbing them down to 4.8 resolution, uses the original 1 or 2 ft resolution the data was purchased as. You have to wonder if the photo tiles would take all week to refresh at that resolution, and the size of the file would be enormous, but wow, it would look amazing! Talk about as real as it gets. With the new Conroe Intel CPU's coming out (that are smoking fast, and that's coming from an AMD a really excited user), and the new DX10 video cards, just maybe this will work.3. Radar Contact- Since it doesn't sound like FSX has done much with the ATC, from what we know.3. Enhanced airports from Fly Tampa and Cloud 9.4. FS Genesis and or Ultimate Terrain, but only if they improve on the default, which is yet to be seen since FSX is stepping up to the plate.5. Aircraft add ons. I imagine most will be ported if they have been released in the last year or so, but some will charge for the privledge, which is okay by me if they didn't promise otherwise.6. Active Sky. Again probably a charge, but these guys continue to improve on the best product out there.Brian S.
July 22, 200619 yr I think most regular planes will work but some of the more complex ones will need a patch. The scenery items mentioned I think we won't need except for airport sceneries. I really hope Fly Tampa,Flightscenery,Mega Frankfurt, etc. will work. Megascenery at higher resolution would be great but can our computers handle it or will it be a blurry stuttery mess? Who knows?Regards, Carlos
July 22, 200619 yr >Most importantly, I think we need a version of squawkbox>running on FSX!I tend to think that will not be needed with the new MP aspects, we'll see.I'm with David, hope to dump many of my scenery enhancmenets, the less systems/addons running in the background, the better. I just need active camera, trackIR, AS6, TTools, and AFCAD to work.Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/tfbeta.jpg Best, Michael KDFW
July 22, 200619 yr >TTools, AFCAD...Absolutely, we'll need these fast. I hope something like this is included in the SDK.
July 22, 200619 yr It would be nice if FS X would fullfill all of my needs out of the box but I'm afraid I can't live without:1. Dreamfleet Beech A36 (with it's included Reality XP GNS 430) and the Reality XP SN3308 I bought especially for that A36 (which is the only plane I've been flying ever since I bought it).2. Active Camera. I bought it at the same time I bought the A36. It gives me the freedom I love and I can't live without it. (But I have to admit that I'm als thinking about TrakIR instead. Or also...?)That's all for me! :) These 2 add-ons give me all I need. Fun to fly and just enough extra things to do (GNS 430, SN3308) to avoid boredom. ;)Er... well, no, not really, that's not ALL I need... The biggest 'add-on' I plan to buy when the DX10 version is released will be a brand new Vista/DX10 comptible computer!!! :(
