July 12, 200619 yr I was just wondering where the improved roads and coastlines will be located in FSX. I assume the US will be covered as well as parts of Europe. Will other places like Japan and Australia be covered as well either to the same detail as above or better than FS9?
July 15, 200619 yr I hope Australia is covered.U.S.A seems to be covered in great detail in existing addons ie GE ect ect. Brent Lewis

July 16, 200619 yr Nope he gave a defintion of coastlines and told how many roads there will be. The question was where the improved ones will be - 0/10 :(
July 16, 200619 yr My impression is that they are improved everywhere, just like the terrain is, but I guess it depends on the availability of data on roads, coasts, etc.You have to wonder about some obscure part of the Sudan, as to if there is any good road data there, for example...Rhett Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
July 18, 200619 yr Search previous messages tragger (or someone else?) mentioned the MS product they were getting the roads from - if it's in there, I assume it will be in FS.Hope this helps,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___ Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
July 18, 200619 yr They get their data from MapPoint (mappoint.msn.com), BUT the devs also stated that FSX does NOT contain all of the data MapPoint has to offer. It's been filtered down to a level more suitable for FSX, whatever that is.
July 18, 200619 yr Author Well back in January I guessed"Worldwide (where available) 75m meshHigh accuracy road/water/coastline data for North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and parts of Asia, Africa and South AmericaTextures to 1m resolution.Landclass accuracy to 0.5km (where available)24 Texture set locations.......around 20GB on the DVDs?"I think I got the texture set and the texture resolution right. Will 2 dvd's (I'm sure I heard 2) hold 20GB data? Not heard about landclass yet. Maybe my roads/water/coastline guess may be close as well. We'll see.
