What will you do first in FSX?

Kasper, Whats your local airport?Mine would be Padborg/Bov kommune (about 15km's away)

If I have my new system, I will end up spending some time tweaking and then making a image of the base setup.First flight will be just the default plane and airport. Then after testing the planes probably a flight out of home ORD to (old home) STL.

Well I will boot it up and then have a heart attack because I will get so excited about how awesome it looks.:D

First thing I'll do is make some popcorn, get comfy in my office chair, get some mountain dew and come to the forums to laugh at the unreasonable, goofy posts about what "should" be in that isn't and how long till such n such addon will be 100% compatible, LOL.My first flights will include installing and maxing every slider (as I always do) and be strictly default to test it out and start in Hawaii at the ship in the video!Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/mcdcvabanner.jpgCalVirAir International

If we still need the game disc in the drive, the first thing I'm going to do is copy the DVD.Doug

Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. Klaatu barada nickto.

I'm gonna go fly circles around my house, same as every pilot does on their first solo (hence the importance the FAA puts on the maneuver during flight check) :)Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)

I did it in my inital around the world attempt in FS2004, try Cairns to Weipa, then Weipa to Port Moresby, then Port Moresby to Mount Hagen, and finally Mount Hagen to the flats before jumping across to Ambon Indonesia... Make sure you have real world weather enabled... ;) Best flight I've had in FS so far...Oh BTW I used the FSGenesis mesh which was awesome for the flight through Australia and South East Asia...I am still in the process of compiling my flight plans for my FSX around the world effort...

I probably set it at KSNA and fly around Orange County, CA around San Clemente, Dana Point etc. to see how realistic it is. Hopefully it will look as good as Megacity but I know I shouldn't count on it. Next I will play around with weather. I will set CBs and other kinds of weather conditions. I will then change seasons and go to other airports like KLAS to see if they fixed the snow bug in FSX starting Nov 24th to March 20th. After testing flying and exploring different areas of the US, then it is time for me to bring some airliners, panels, sounds to do a real world flight and test out high altitude flying and watch the sky become darker as I climb.

I'll rebuild the ai traffic world using available packages on the internet hoping to see no Go arounds anymore ( except GA aviation training flight ).....}( hardcore simmers

The scenery around the top end is pretty good compared to the rest of Australia which is pretty flat and the textures are, in the words of another poster on this thread, 'bland and boring'. Based on the screenshots we've seen so far I'd say this will not be the case in FSX.I got the FS Global '05 mesh which made a huge difference. Suddenly the FS world looked so lifelike you could recognise familiar geographic features. FS Global is a 76 m terrain mesh, but the screenshots suggest that FSX will have a much higher resolution. I did a search through the FSX forum here at Avsim. I don't think anything definitive has been said on the subject of terrain mesh yet, it looks like the guys on the development team don't want to give too much away so early in the game.Good luck with RTW.Mike.

This is speculation on my part though and I don't want to assume anything unless it is officially said through the great guys at MSFT...I agree with the whole increased mesh resolution... I've been using FS Genesis and it's amazing, especially the 19m mesh in Monument Valley, The Grand Canyon and Hawaii... :)If you look at FSInsider you will see an article and presentation on the new terrain engine and modelling. It's amazing stuff. From what I've seen it looks like it might eventually lead to something a few people have been interested in seeing in FS, but word on the blogs is that 'not likely, but we have ideas'...It's amazing though how many bugs I've been finding in FS2004 though as I am prepping for RTW... So far I've found some runway elevation/terrain issues, blank landclass :S and a few other things...Anyway, this RTW trip is looking better and better. Does anyone know if someone has created the big radio telescope in Puerto Rico for FS?
