Summer Scramble on the Sound contd.

For 2019-06-29

Picking up where we left off, at KORS, Orcas Island, we'll be heading into Canadian airspace, visiting Victoria which we left out last week, and heading into British Columbia, towards Mile Zero of the Cariboo Road.

Proposed flight plan:

KORS - CYYJ - CAM3 - CYCD - CYVR - CYSE - CYPS - CAR3 (aka CILY).

Details to follow!

As mentioned above, we start at Orcas Island and work our way up the east coast of Vancouver Island, landing at Victoria International, followed by a touch and go at Duncan airfield which is located right at the edge of an operational quarry that is eating away at the side of the airfield.

Then we detour over Maple Bay, from where we have taken float plane trips in the past, and land at Nanaimo Regional Airport.

Next stop is Vancouver International and a scenic overflight over the city of Vancouver before heading up the Sunshine Coast towards the resort town of Whistler.

Stops in Squamish and Pemberton followed by touring through a pretty mountain valley toward our destination of Lillooet, the famed Mile Zero start of the Caribou Gold Rush Road.

Just like last time, your favorite small touring airplane should do nicely, something like a Bonanza or Comanche would be ideal.

Bert...
The wayback machine has been turned on and arrived on September 2, 2014 ---> here.
Shall we download the airports CYYJ & CYCD from Don Grovestine again?
It looks like both have been upgraded to P3Dv4 standards. ( CYYJ from V6.xx 2014 to V7.06 2017 & CYCD from V3.xx 2012 to V3.10 2012)
CYYJ
CYCD
P3Dv3/4 simconnect patch - applicable to both sceneries. (filename = "All Airports Patch 1.zip")

I have CYCD installed, but find CYYJ to be a performance killer, so have it disabled... the PNW version is just fine.

Neither is required for the flight..
