July 16, 20196 yr Hi, I would like to have my prepar3d.cfg rebuild to see if I can get a slight performance boost. Can I just make a backup of the current config file and then delete the old one to have a new fresh prepar3d.cfg created? Just in case something gets wrong...will the backup always bring me back to exactly(!) the same setting/configuration as before? What about tools like PTA? Do I have to revert back to the original shaders before? Thanks! Best regards Andreas

July 16, 20196 yr Not exactly. Read this recent thread EDIT : I meant the new config file will require to redo some settings. I don't know for the backup file. But as I told you I'm pretty sure that a Windows restore brings all as before. Assuming the copy/backup is identical to its original, then yes, it will, is the correct answer. I've never seen it otherwise. July 16, 20196 yr Commercial Member Many people simply cut the file and place it on their desktop, and then if everything works out with P3D rebuilding the file, they delete the copy on the desktop. Fast, easy, works!
