July 24, 20196 yr Might pick this up, if the feedback is positive. $35 introduction price. https://www.thresholdx.net/news/dhcrel [MSI MPG X870E Carbon | 9800X3D (PBO +200Mhz / -20 Offset) | Corsair 64GB DDR5 (Custom Timings) | RTX 4090 Founders Edition (Undervolted) | WD SNX 850X 4TB + 4TB | Antec Flux Pro]
July 24, 20196 yr That’s a crappy discount for anyone who already bought it for P3D. Not that Milviz is obligated to provide one, but still. On paper, this seems way better than the P3D version.
July 24, 20196 yr This looks like a fair introduction price. And X-Plane is a totally different platform. I would not consider it as an upgrade to the P3D version.... BTW, I like the P3D version a lot. Felix Win11 + Intel i5 [email protected] GHz (overclocked) + 64GB DDR4 RAM@3600MHz + 24GB GeForce RTX3090 + M.2 SSD 2TB + 1TB SSD + 2TB HDD + VelocityOne Flightstick + HOTAS Thrustmaster (throttle only) + Saitek ProFlight Rudder Pedals + Meta Quest 3
July 24, 20196 yr Commercial Member The P3D one is not the same as it has built in failures using our KA/Otter/Beaver tech. The XP version uses the default failures available in XP. No comments as to which is better. As for discounts, given that XP is still new to us, we're providing an all around discount rather than our usual MV direct client discounts. If we do another XP aircraft, we will look at "nicer" discounts for our clients. Thanks for the compliments... (i think) Please contact oisin at milviz dot com for forum registration information. On paper, this seems way better than the P3D version. Any developer you ask will tell you its almost a complete rebuild for XPLANE, it not like its a simple port. I had to rebuy planes that where xp10 than redone for 11, im happy with that considering all the chnages, we all want to make a living and get paid for our work. This is one i will pick up when it gets in the ORG store.
July 24, 20196 yr This is cool, I'm buying it. I have a fondness for Otters because many years ago when I was working as an aerial photographer, an Otter we were using supplied by the Costa Rican government (the radial engine version) had an engine failure over Tortuguero National Park on the Atlantic coast. Everything fine until BANG! and the prop instantly stopped. Maybe a thrown rod. The pilot tried to make it to the airstrip down the coast at Puntarenas, but it didn't glide that far and we ditched just offshore. Fixed wheel version, instant nose flip on contact with the water. I still have a bump on my head from where the cabin door hit me. We all swam out, everyone safe, because these things were built like tanks. A really tough airplane. Nice to see an updated version for XP11. X-Plane and Microsoft Flight Simulator on Windows 10 i7 6700 4.0 GHz, 32 GB RAM, GTX 1660 ti, 1920x1200 monitor
July 25, 20196 yr Commercial Member It will be more expensive as of Thursday... and it's going to go up on all our vendors including the .org unless there's a major bug. Do remember that you need to use a NON-Beta version of XP (11.34r1). We've had reports that the new version causes issues. Also note, if you buy it direct from us, we get to keep what the .org (and other vendors) keep AND, you have a good chance to score better discounts on new stuff.
