July 29, 20196 yr I couldn't find an existing topic but, anyway, I recently tried to install an older piece of software on my FSX stuff and the install replaced the opening splash screen with FS 2004 logo. While I reluctantly admit it hasn't hurt the FSX operation, it is a little annoying. The now-current splash screen file name is "dlgsplash.bmp and I could not find the original file on the DVD probably because it is inside one of the .CAB files and only the government or Apple (at least not me) can decode one of these files. Anyone have any ideas? Eric Parker Eric Parker
July 29, 20196 yr Administrators Be creative! Make your own Splash Screen. It's just a .JPG picture redone as a bitmap image that you would label dlgsplash.bmp . This is mine in .JPEG form: Don't forget that you can also change the opening music, also! July 29, 20196 yr type in 'FSX Splash screen into Google and select Images. You'll find a bunch of alternative screens there and you might get lucky and find a copy of the original. Edited July 29, 20196 yr by airernie
July 30, 20196 yr You can also put the FSX disk back into the CD player and select "Repair". If you have Acceleration, run a repair there too. If you do not have Acceleration, then reinstall SP1 and SP2. Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource!
