September 1, 20196 yr There are mentions of recruitment for the Tech Alpha in the dev roadmap for September 12th. You can expect that to be an unoptimized and feature-starved version with potentially limited times of availability.
September 24, 20196 yr [copied from main MS Flight Sim forum] For weeks, I have tried without success to log in. I know I have an OK insider account because I have just received an email re: alpha testing. If I try to log in I am told to create an Xbox profile, which I don't need but I click "accept" anyway. Then I see a revolving circle of green dots for a few seconds and finally a message that an unexpected error occurred and try again later... This is rather frustrating. Has anybody else got this problem? or better still the solution? I use Firefox on Win7 and I have tried Chrome without better results. Thanks

See the bottom of this page: https://www.flightsimulator.com/ As you should be aware by now, Microsoft Flight Simulation will be an XBOX GAME STUDIOS release (see bottom of https://www.flightsimulator.com/) So, Windows 10 is essential to apply for any kind of access. September 25, 20196 yr Thanks, Robin. I had not noticed the footnote. Seems to me the error message could be more explicit, particularly after enrolling me without any warning. Anyway, I'll have to stop dragging my feet and get W10.
