January 11, 200620 yr Hi.Your statement:>For any flight simulator to be an excellent one, its scenery that depicts the real world should be just as visually stunning and realistic as it is in the real world.
January 11, 200620 yr Hi poor guy,>....stupid man...delusions...What a weak admission of a very small self confidence. If your insults weren't so ridiculous, I would maybe have gotten angry. But so I just feel pity. ;-)
January 11, 200620 yr Hi TV,an excellent and knowlegdeable argumentation, you put my thoughs into words better than I could have done. Thanks!Panther

Thanks!>PantherYou kinda remind me of the younger crowd of a really excited user over at the IGN forums: Eager to promote their opinions as facts, and grab every chance to get the last word as if a couple of words of cheering their fellow a really excited user mattered. Nobody gains anything else than negativity from acting like an eager-puppy-asshat.Anyway, I fired up X-plane this week, tried it out over a few days, and I must say that I ended up pretty disappointed. The "feeling" and immersion of "flying" is IMO much stronger in my fully add-on'ed FS2004 (And yes, I fly real airplanes in my spare time too :) ). What I like about MSFS is that lays down a good base of general simulation of "flying" instead of sacrifising everything (else) for just one thing. The most disappointing thing was that IMO the airplanes in X-plane felt like controlling a simulated model airplane. So much for theory... I guess I prefer immersion and the general feeling over narrow peaks of nerd-ism theory. Don't misunderstand me though, I wouldn't say no to a better flight model, I actually welcome it. I just want to retain some relativity in all of this.

Unless I shut down an engine and see what the prop does. Or unless I approach or fall below Vymc. Or unless I try an autorotation in a copter. Or unless I set up some turbulence. Or unless I try a crosswind landing. Or unless I try to land on a icy/wet runway. Or unless I look at how gauges move. Or unless... January 12, 200620 yr "...hand-flying an aircraft in FS9 is simplified very, very much. In my opinion other sims ARE further developed in this field.""Hand flying" is the only way that I fly planes in flight simulators, even a big jet. That's because I want to fly "low and slow", and don't want to mess around with autopilots. I want to "feel" what the plane is like to fly at low speeds, and give myself time to enjoy the scenery as it passes by beneath me.FU3 is a wonderful simulator of "low and slow".Chris Low. January 12, 200620 yr Gentlemen!Don't you think this has gone far enough? It seems somewhat childish and counter-productive...and seems to have little bearing on FSX.

January 13, 200620 yr Interesting thought.. It's like in film! The brain fills in the blanks between individual images. Or like FPS, - same principle. Right, ehhr, back to FSX-dasher7
