alpa build?

Featured Replies

what is a alpha build? i did sign up for the alpha testing and i know there is a update on insider program program on the 19th of September, does that mean alpha testers will get a email and download link to download the program and start testing it out on or near the 19th? thanks for the info.

we will see how it goes on today with the update. Nobody knows more like you at the moment.

You don't get to test the whole build.  I think you get to test bits of the build.  Different people will be selected for different segments of the testing.  You won't necessarily get access to all of it.

oh thats very interesting, i have been flying flight simulators for many years since 1982 with SubLogic Flight Simulator II on my Commodore 64 i  currently use mostly XP11 at the moment and this would be the first alpha build that if select would be part of. thanks

Judging by the October timeline 25th, feedback pipeline online, partner feature announcement series kickoff,

I highly doubt Alpha will be available to test today. More like end of next month.

Super prescient comment here.

This is speculation, right? There may be features not in the tech build yet, but there's nothing I've seen to indicate that we will be split into separate groups to test individual components, and that's not how tech alphas I've been a part of in the past have worked.

It isn't speculation.  It's in the FAQ on their website.  The Tech Alphas are time gated, limited content releases, to specific groups of people, and not the same people every time.

What is a Preview Build (Technical Alpha/Beta)?

Preview builds are work-in-progress builds we’ve created for the purpose of working directly with our community to deliver the best experience collaboratively through feedback/suggestions. Each build will have a specific set of content/functionality meant to provide a slice of the overall experience. These builds will be time gated and limited to a specific number of Insiders. Participants in these builds will vary with each release so if you are not selected for one, that does not mean you will be excluded from others
