September 4, 200619 yr Just made a video from 4 different missions in FSX. I know its not among the best out there but I just put it together real quick for those of you that havent been able to get ahold of the beta or even the demo.www.idratherbeflying.net/Videos/FSXMissions.wmv(Autogen is off... too hard on my system right now)

September 5, 200619 yr Author :-lolYeah... first try took me forever but it wasnt so bad after a couple of tries... except you have to keep flying when youre on there... you noticed when I hit the brakes, the plane wanted to slide off the back of the bus. Not sure if that is how it would be in real life... it kind of makes sense and yet it kind of doesnt..... I havent really tried to get on there and actually "stop" yet.
September 5, 200619 yr I hope the autogen performance improves, at least once a good system with DX10 hardware comes out. I keep hearing how the autogen is a system killer, and that's something I still deal with in FS9. - Chris Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Elite AX | Intel Core i9 13900KF | Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4090 24 GB | 64GB DDR5 SDRAM | Corsair H100i Elite 240mm Liquid Cooling | 1TB & 2TB Samsung Gen 4 SSD | 1000 Watt Gold PSU | Windows 11 Pro | Thrustmaster Boeing Yoke | Thrustmaster TCA Captain X Airbus | Asus ROG 38" 4k IPS Monitor (PG38UQ) Asus Maximus VII Hero motherboard | Intel i7 4790k CPU | MSI GTX 970 4 GB video card | Corsair DDR3 2133 32GB SDRAM | Corsair H50 water cooler | Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD (2) | EVGA 1000 watt PSU - Retired
September 5, 200619 yr Author Oh it's murder... even having it on sparse is really hard on your system (keep in mind that Sparse level in FSX gives you a bit more autogen than the maximum autogen level in FS9)(Watch this video to get an idea of how FSX performs on my machine with full autogen and road traffic)www.idratherbeflying.net/Videos/KSAT.wmv
September 5, 200619 yr Commercial Member Todd,What are your system specs? You can see in my "wing flex" video things are pretty smooth, and I'm running a thunderstorm out of KSEA with autogen set to medium. My system is about 1.5 year's old, too.Bryan B. September 5, 200619 yr Author Athlon XP 2.81 GB RAM (PC3200)256MB 9600XTThe rest of it is pretty standard... nothing special.
September 5, 200619 yr Commercial Member I'd personally upgrade to 2 GB of RAM. I think everyone should frankly if they can, especially with Vista on the horizon. How many years old is the Athlon XP 2.8 now? Did you try lowering your water detail?-Bryan B. September 5, 200619 yr Author hmm... I would say its been about 2 years if not a bit more. I've had it for a while.Believe me, an upgrade is in the books. I'm just waiting for DX10 cards to be available and I'm building a new system ground-up.Here's what I have planned:I will likely be using a Athlon 64 4800 X2 (dual core) or something in that neighborhood.2GB RAM512MB DX10 Video card10 or 15,000 RPM Hard Drive (Probably the 10,000 RPM Raptor)New case, modular power supply, motherboard, the works.

September 5, 200619 yr Commercial Member Sounds good. I'm waiting for DX10 cards, too, before I upgrade.Fortunately FSX runs pretty good on my system, and I'm only running Beta 3. From what I gather a lot of improvements have been made since Beta 3 that will further enhance performance.Athlon 64 3500+, 256 MB 6800 Asus GT Video Card, Asus A8V Deluxe Mothboard, 2 GB Ram, Win XP Pro...-Bryan B.
