September 20, 20196 yr Hello all I'm about to update my existing GTX 970 to a GTX 1070 TI. I've been running 382.53 for ages now and have had zero problems with them. My question is this - should I reinstall 382.53 (if it ain't broke...) or would these be holding the 1070 TI back ? In which case, please could you advise what the most appropriate drivers might be for the 1070 Ti ? Many thanks
September 20, 20196 yr I was wondering the same thing and from what I can determine that without updated drivers you would not be taking advantage of what the GTX 1070ti offers. The 10 series of cards uses the Pascal architecture, which is different than the GTX 970. I still run P3Dv2.4 and everything has been working great and I worry if I update to a GTX 1070 (Ti good if your are running a 4k monitor) with new drivers I'll break something, haha stuff like that always seems to happen with me. September 20, 20196 yr I have a GTX 1070 (non Ti) and happily use 385.69 Edited September 20, 20196 yr by Bert Pieke Bert
September 20, 20196 yr Author Thanks, guys. Looking into this a bit further and reviewing all of the legacy drivers located here, it would appear that support for the 1070 Ti only started at release 390.65, so that answers my first question. However, that still leaves an awful lot of existing drivers available that do support the 1070 Ti. Maybe a bit more research or just take a punt on one of the later versions and see how they run... Regards
September 20, 20196 yr Each PC system is a little different, so I would probably start with the most recent drivers and work back if needed? Good luck!
September 22, 20196 yr I Run my 1070Ti with the current set of drivers, v436.30. Mind you, it is just the PhysX and the actual driver itself, not the HD audio drivers or the NVidia Experience parts. For video recording I use Action! (instead of NVidia Experience) which I find has more features and reliablity than NVidia's offerings. Plus I don't have to be logged into an NVidia account just to use it. The 1070Ti is also happily overclocked, see the pic below.
