September 23, 20196 yr Guys. I've recently upgraded my setup to 4k. (Samsung 43" tv 3840x2160) on a 1080ti). I have my setup currently running with MCE on. Yes I realize it's not recommended, but when under load I'm getting 4.6ghz on all cores. When I fly, I not only have P3D open. But also Active Sky/SkyForce, VPilot, Chaseplane, Google Chrome with various tabs. Under typical flying load I see VCore going up to 1.22 or so and temps under 62c or so on the cores. I'm continuing to have some microstutter issues. Even before the 4k upgrade. I have numerous addon airports as well as ENVTEX/ENVSHADE/ACSA/AS/Skyforce. Despite numerous attempts to tweak I can't fully get rid of them. They are mainly when at or in vicinity of the addon airports as opposed to climb/descent/cruise. You will see screenshots of my P3d/Nvidia settings in the links below. I'm running the samsung q60R at 30hz. As you see I have unlimited frames in the P3D settings. But I did try locking to 30 and putting in the FFTF .10 line. Didn't see any improvements. So here I am in search of smoothness. -I'm wondering if trying to disable MCE and OC my CPU from 4.6 to 5.0 would be of any significance? I mean that's only 8.6% in clock speed improvement. -Am I missing something obvious in my settings? -Is the 1080Ti just not up to 4k and these settings? It's worth mentioning that I have 3 screens. The main samsung. The left monitor is a 27" samsung widescreen running at 1080P and 60hz (though capable of 144). Both of those are plugged into the 1080ti. The 23" right monitor is also 1080p but into the motherboard graphics. September 23, 20196 yr Scenery loading pauses when in heavy scenery are unavoidable.. Reducing your settings is the only remedy, and even then you may get some.. Bert
September 23, 20196 yr Isn't there some smoothness issue with running 3 screens not all at the same refresh rate? Or am I not remembering things correctly? Also, I'd run with vsync on (in-sim checkbox), if you're not already. And yes -- you are probably going to have to reduce settings, at least until you can dial-out the stutter. Pay particular attention to your orbx vector settings -- it may be as tedious as un-checking individual items (like power poles) in Vector settings, and re-testing... September 24, 20196 yr Author thanks. I'll give that a try. I had initally run with Vsync on, then turning it off seemed to perform better. I'm also going to try wiping out my nvidia drivers and starting with a fresh install of them. 5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW and 2 22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU, 360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next

Having a web browser open is probably the best way to divert system performance away from your flight sim. Even if it's not the source of your stutters, it's stealing CPU cycles in the background. i7-14700k | Asus ROG STRIX Z790-F Gaming WIFI | 32GB DDR5 RAM | MSI RTX 4080 Super | WD Black SN850X 1TB & 2TB | Corsair HX1000i ATX3.0 | MSI MAG401QR 40" monitor | Win 11 Pro 64-bit | Meta Quest 3

I'm not actively loading tabs during the stutters as stutters are usually at takeoff landing when I'm focused on flying. So one would think the tabs would be a ram only issue. With 32gb ram, I'm not worried about it. Many websites have pages which auto refresh regularly and, depending on the complexity of the site, can cause quite a rise in CPU usage. It's possible to stop this in most browsers but unless you need the browser open for something important, it's always worth closing it before starting your sim. i7-14700k | Asus ROG STRIX Z790-F Gaming WIFI | 32GB DDR5 RAM | MSI RTX 4080 Super | WD Black SN850X 1TB & 2TB | Corsair HX1000i ATX3.0 | MSI MAG401QR 40" monitor | Win 11 Pro 64-bit | Meta Quest 3
September 25, 20196 yr Author So set my tv from 30hz to 60hz and it’s MUCH smoother. I’m kind of perplexed this would help and not hurt 5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW and 2 22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU, 360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next
