FSX fsx.cfg file, does it exist

Featured Replies

I read that the fsx.cfg file could be modified to help with blurry textures. I have the beta loaded and can't find the fsx.cfg file. Am I missing something, or am I looking in the wrong place?Where is the fsx.cfg file?

Don't have the beta, but you might try going into the settings menu and select "save" then save your settings to your location of choice. Do your text edits as required on this file, then click on "load" and the edited settings will be loaded into the game. At least that's how it works in the demo.scott s..

It is in a hidden folder:C:Documents and Settingsyour logon idApplication DataMicrosoftFSXIf you have the beta.If you have the demo - look in the folder:C:Documents and Settingsyour logon idApplication DataMicrosoftFSX DemoYou have to have show hidden files turned on to see the Application data folder.

Try C:Documents and Settings*USER*Application DataMicrosoftIt should be somewhere around there.Randall

That tells me you have the Demo loaded, not the beta.Look under the FSX Demo folder

I'll check it out. thanks. Be back to confirm.

I found it where you guys said. I read that adding this statement would fix blurry textures in FSX. The command "FIBER_FRAME_TIME_FRACTION=0.33" didn't exist under [main], so I added it. No luck. Still Blurry as ####. Let me guess. This fix only works in the retail version? I have the beta, so no luck, or am I missing something?1. The percentage of frame time given to worker fibers (10%) was simply too stingy for the amount of texture work needing to be done. This change increases the target fiber time allocation to 33%. This value is configurable via the following variable in fsx.cfg:[Main]FIBER_FRAME_TIME_FRACTION=0.33

The actual code to help mitigate the blurries via the config entry mentioned above is not in Beta 3 or the demo (it was implimented after the release of Beta 3), so there is not much you can do right now... just have to wait till the retail version I guess.Chrs,Bryan

Thanks. I hope your right. These bluries are awfull. I have to turn everything off except the scenery tab to get a picture of the ground that I'm flying over. Even then, it's not consestant.Waiting for retail. :)athlon 64 4200 (dual core 2.2ghz each)2 geforce 7800 GT oc's 256mb eachprojectorch pedalsch yokego flight mods2gig ram (corsair)audigy 2 7.1 creaive speaker system

That setting has no effect in the beta.
