I know what you mean Bill.  When I look up at overflying aircraft I have to find something to hold onto.

I've taken to writing down everything I do so I don't repeat it.  So far I have installed 58 FS9 MAIW air bases and ai into my FSX system.  I write each one down on my list so I know I've done it.

Sometimes I watch a TV show or movie and get halfway through it before I realize I've already seen it.

Watching Jeopardy?  I know I know the answer, I just can't bring it up quickly enough.

When replying to or originating an e-mail or forum response I just can't bring up the word I want to use.  So I minimize it and look up what I am trying to say on Google.

My forehead has a blister from slapping it so often.

The tires are worn.  The shocks are shot.  The steering is wobbly.  But the engine still runs fine.

Kevin, certainly you are not implying the blind spot alarm takes the place of the side view mirror?  It is an alert to bring your attention to the mirror.  Then you can see the size of the car/truck coming up, any other vehicles behind it and how fast they are going just as you did before they had blind spot alerts.

What he is saying is that dumb a**es use it that way. The manufacturers are putting all that "stuff" on cars because they realized that the average driver is totally incompetent, with zero situational awareness. They are attempting to compensate for idiocy.

Look over your shoulder before changing lanes ? You're kidding, right ?  Turn your head and torso to actually look out the rear window to back up? What an idea !   Use the 3 second rule for following distance ? HUH,  WHAZZAT ?

Sigh, pardon my soapbox. I was taught by a B-17 pilot, check the instruments, scan the sky, scan the sky, scan the sky. Repeat ad infinitum. It transfers over to driving, he was right.

The topic started out about the OP saying goodbye to P3D.  Not sure what we are talking about now.  This topic has certainly gone off topic several times (some of it actually had some good off topic stuff!!).  I don't like to lock topics but this topic is a prime candidate for locking.  I think it is now being used to bump it at the top of the forum so the title can always be shown at the top.  That's what I think.  Sometimes I'm wrong.  Now I will lock it.
