[Answered] UTL 787 Series and AILRP

Recommended Posts

Hello Simbol and Beta Team,

as to the Boeing 787-800 and 900 am I correct that there is presently no AI model on the market -no freeware no payware - which is supporting the P3D SDK requirement?

My UTL 787-800 and -900 are shown as NOT SUPPORTED.

Tks for input.

This is because the UTL 787 is an old model from FSPX. I reached out to Missi this week but he hasn't answered.

The UTT 787 series are fully compatible.

Hello Simbol,

Thanks for the UTT 787-8 tipp. I installed the model and it is shwon in the sim and when using preview mode. However I cannot configure the red and green nav lights. Seems they are not there.

After the scan of yr program the aircraft.cfg shows the following:

[lights]
//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing
light.0=1, 25.72, 0, -8.65, fx_fsreborn_beacon2728
light.1=1, 56.13, 0, 12.19, fx_fsreborn_beacon2728
light.2=3, -85.7, -2.15, 3.86, fx_fsreborn_navwhi2728
light.3=3, -85.7, 2.15, 3.86, fx_fsreborn_navwhi2728
light.4=2, 0, 0, 0, fx_fsreborn_stbg2728

And down as last entry its shows:

[FSREBORN_LIGHTS_CTRL]
light.0=1,  25.72,   0.00,  -8.65, fx_beaconb
light.1=1,  56.13,   0.00,  12.19, fx_beaconh
light.2=3, -85.70,  -2.15,   3.86, fx_navwhi
light.3=3, -85.70,   2.15,   3.86, fx_navwhi
light.4=2, -85.70,  -2.20,   3.86, fx_strobe
light.5=2, -85.70,   2.20,   3.86, fx_strobe
light.6=5,  32.00,  10.35,  -3.13, fx_landing
light.7=5,  32.00, -10.35,  -3.13, fx_landing
light.8=6,  77.00,   0.97,  -8.81, fx_landing
light.9=6,  77.00,  -0.97,  -8.81, fx_landing

I assume somehting is wrong here from the beginning. Could you advise your view. I would exspect that soemwhere along the line there should be a"*navred*." and a "*navgre*", but in both sections there is none.

Thanks for verifying, I do hope you possibly have the UTT 787-8 yourself to counterverify.

Interesting the UTT you installed doesn't have strobes or nav lights enabled.

I will ask around to see if anyone has the coordinates for these available.

I have just checked the UTT 787-9 in the Live Preview Module, and there are green and red navigation lights visible. However, they are not located right at the wingtips (slightly inboard from this location), and they are also very faint (the red light is hard to see from the front or back). My LIGHTS section of the aircraft.cfg file is configured as per Andreas' example above (in other words, only "navwhi" files; no "navgre" or "navred")

Yes, the UTT 787-9 is the same like the -8. You can see some extremely small red and green dots only from dead aside. Seem to be part of the model.

So those two planes are lacking compatibility.

Would be really great if somebody reading this could contribute the coordinates.

Send me a link via support@fsreborn.com  to download both. I will locate the coordinates manually and report back.

But give me a couple of days. I was planning to do some flying tonight as I haven't for a long time! All I do is develop lately haha.

Done

Further Inspection of these UTT models from the link you posted revealed that both models have all the effects already attached via the .MDL and accordingly the [LIGHTS] section should have been left clean in order to avoid double declaration of lights. These models also have WingFlex, and it is probably the reason why the navigation lights, etc. have been now attached via 3DS to the .MDL. I noticed also there is a fault with these models under P3D V4.5, the strobes, landing lights and taxi lights are always active regardless of the command sent to the models.. so it seems they are a bit faulty, probably they need to be recompiled using the P3D SDK.

They will work with AIRLP, however they will use only "Fallback" effects since the effects names used via the .MDL are the generic names used by many other models. To make them work please:

  • Close P3D.
  • Restore your original AI Lights via the aILRP config panel.
  • Clear the light section of both models.
  • Re-Scan under AILRP
  • Click Apply
  • Launch P3D, the models will have my effects installed with the caveats mentioned above.

I am a bit frustrated to be honest, it seems the only way to get decent 787 models that work as they should would be for me to do one? for God sake!

@Kaiii3 You guys got these UTT 787 working fine with P3D with AIGM regarding the strobes? maybe I need to check yours instead?

Simbol

Thanks for the update, Raul. I will follow your advice with respect to the UTT 787s, and check them out.

In yr 2nd listed action point you mention the above.

I have the UTT 787-8 in an individual Lights Setting Group and applied settings to them, which as outlined and as understood from yr answer show no effects.

As to yr 2nd action point will hitting the button "Reset to Defaults" only reset those UTT gropu back to default and leave my other groups I have set up and individually configured untouched as to reset to default?

tks for advice.

Simbol, sorry, now I understand. You tell me to in configuration menu hit the butto to "restore Original AI lights", correct?

Will I then have to reapply for all my groups via the exported/saved presets then load those individual group presets which I saved load again for my groups and re-apply them?

Looks like, correct?

Correct.

Your group settings, etc. will remain. All your are doing by restoring the original AI Lights is reverting all the lights sections of your models before proceeding to "re-edit" the lights. This allows AILRP database to be "ready" for any manual changes you are doing to your AI package.

When you re-scan and click apply, all the group settings, parameters, etc.. will be re-applied. you don't need to do them again.
